2 sets are needed to make a full pyramid.

    • +1

Sadly that is correct. thus $160 for 2 sets seem about right

    • +2

there is a really good MOC i found on rebrickable that uses just the one set to make a full pyramid

      • link?

          • +2

@squash: you should probably point out that its a full, but half under construction pyramid hahaha

To be fair you could just order the additional white sloped pieces from bricklink or lego pick a brick to complete this set instead (it would cost you less than buying 2 sets; unless theres some stupidly unique piece in this set…

Personally, i think this displays beautifully, no need for the full pyramid. Well worth the $159.

Just put a mirror behind it, like a big line in the sand to block people from getting to Mecca

    Are slaves included?

    • +5

Slaves didn't build the pyramids - aliens did.

Could've just been me, and the cheap knock-off Johnny Waler whiskey I was drinking at the time, but I don't quite recall sailing down a palm-fringed river on a felucca up to a grand entrance like that in Giza! 🤷

    • Giza lies within the Nile River delta and the waterways actually made the construction a lot easier. They used the nile to haul the stones downstream.

    • With such a huge construction and the weight of the structure, there is no way the pyramid can be too close to the Nile river. It would have been a nightmare to keep the water away from its foundation otherwise. Giza is a couple of miles away from the main river channel(4 to 5 miles?). It was suggested that a temporary water way was built to make the transportation of the huge boulders easier but given that it took place a few thousand years ago, who knows for sure?

  • Could be Luxor Casino if you are into city builds

  • this one doesnt look like it'll be very challenging

    • +3

Which lego build have you found challenging?

  • I don't get why it looks like snow on the pyramids..

I actually really hate the colour choice of the sloped pieces

    • +2

That's how it looked originally before the outer dress layer was removed (stolen) later in history.

      • Well, I learnt something new!

        • +1

One of the pyramids still has it at the peak which is how we know.

  • 2,300,000 bricks?
