To coincide with the release of Goldeneye 007, Nintendo Australia has confirmed that the Nintendo 64 Controller for the Nintendo Switch will be restocked today.
At 1pm AEDT, Friday January 27th the controller will be available again to purchase. There’s still the limit of 4 per My Nintendo Account and they’re still $69.95. You also have to a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber to buy one as well.
PS: Don't forget to add some physical My Nintendo Rewards if you have spare Platinum Points.

Nintendo may have nailed it when they designed the SNES controller, but they sure effed up bad on this one!
Not sure why you are getting downvotes, I call the N64 controller a failed design. Can someone name 1 game where you put your left hand on the left hand grip?
I skipped the N64/PS1/Saturn generation so I don't have any nostalgia for it and just see it as a goofy design.
For people who do have nostalgia for it I do get the appeal though (even if it is a stupid design :-).
The New Tetris is one, recently played it and was glad you weren't forced to use the joystick.
I have to take back what I said, with the switch pro controller you are forced to use joysticks and can't customise the controls. Awful
Correct. No remap means it’s a total fail. Doesn’t work with games that use X and Y buttons.
Very expensive piece of kit if all you want to do is play old N64 games.

I just got an generic email from Nintendo. Looks like they are going to audit the purchases to ensure customers were indeed on a subscription plan excluding trial and will be cancelling and refunding orders.
Any of those that missed out and who are on a individual or family plan keep your eyes on the store as you may be able to score a controller in the coming days.
I just checked my email but I didn't get anything like this… although I was on a subscription plan. In all fairness, I've been waiting over half a year since I signed up to NSO (but thankfully not expansion pack) to be eligible for this when it came out!

I'm worried about mine now as I still haven't seen anything about them being shipped. Genuine buyer, had a current NSO expansion pack when bought.
My order hasn’t been sent and I also have a NSO subscription. The product page does state that dispatch is 5 business days, so no cause for concern yet.

Few reasons such as:
- Because a lot of gamers and collectors only want genuine Nintendo and not aftermarket.
- People want the experience of using the original controller.
- People just prefer the original controller.
- Hype, Nostalgia, Fomo etc.
