Hi,
I am going overseas in April for 8 weeks flying Emirates.
I have paid to upgrade to Business Class on the outbound flight and was wondering if I could earn or buy some points to upgrade on the inward flight. Even if it is from Dubai to Melbourne only.
I looked at the Citibank Emirates Visa card but Citibank are no longer taking new applications for the card.
Does anyone know of any cards offering bonus Emirates points for joining please? Can Qantas points be used to upgrade?
I don't know what my chances are of being approved for a card because I am on the aged pension, my husband on Carers Pension although we own our house, have no debts and have a fair bit of super we occasionally draw on.
Any advice would be useful. Thank you.
Credit Card for Emirates Points.

Your best bet would be to get an Amex card with intro bonus points, and then there is a 2 Amex : 1 Emirates conversion ratio.
There aren't any direct earn Emirates CCs in market atm, and while you can use QFF points to redeem rewards tickets on Emirates, you cannot use QFF points to upgrade.
However, your last point about you being on aged pension is a red flag - banks would be unlikely to approve your application without regular income.
citibank prestige will do but i think its closing on the 31st Jan
your second best option would be classified…there might be people selling
wondering if you can also use QFF to upgrade if the flight is codeshare?
