I assume only 1 in stock for each.
Description is "Very good" which in my experience with other items is basically good as new with damaged packaging.
I am assuming they are customers who used "Free returns" to try the watch and decided to return it.

In order of cheapest to priciest. (All under $100, discount is 42% to 37% off Amazon's current "Brand New" prices which are already lower than other locals)

Dear Mods. I have scoured Amazon Warehouse for G-shocks via this link https://www.amazon.com.au/b?ie=UTF8&node=8415198051
And these are the only models I find worthy of being posted as deals. I assume there is only 1 of each in stock so that makes it a total of 6 in stock which comes short of the recommended minimum of 10.
Just wanted to post this as it may help someone find what they are looking for at a reduced price.

Are any of these solar powered?

    • You mean Solar charging? No.

    • +3

Here is a budget solution with Tough Solar that you might be interested in when the price drops.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/287165

I can't find the deal right now, but I swear I previously searched and there was a deal as low as around $29.

      • Many thanks. You are a champ

Keep in mind it is a very old model.

          "Date First Available ‏ : ‎ March 15, 2005"

So there is a chance that when you get the watch it might have a blank screen and have an empty battery (from sitting in the box). To charge it I recommend doing so not in direct sunlight but just by a window indoors over a few days. No need to try to charge it in 1 day, the watch will always consume energy slower than it will charge so you can spread it out over a week and charge it fully that way.

I guess there is also a chance, that it will have been dead too long and never turn on. In which case hopefully Amazon will take care of you (maybe Amazon AU is safer).

Anyway the point is don't pay too much for it, it's a very old model.

@harshbdmmaster718: Many gshock models have been around for a long time. That has nothing to do with date of manufacture though.

            • @poohduck: "That has nothing to do with date of manufacture though."

True. But if you go to search for the official Casio page it takes you to https://www.casio.com/us/watches/gshock/product.G-2310R-1/
Click "International" in the popup that comes up in the center, and it takes you to a 404 page. That means it's discontinued in Japan.
Same deal with the GD350-1B, it's been discontinued in Japan.

But yeah US stock might still be manufactured recently since it's made outside Japan.

              • +1

@harshbdmmaster718: japan is different. They have stuff that is made just for their domestic market. It has nothing to do with what they sell to the rest of the world. We can buy their stuff and get it shipped from Japan, but they don't export it for sales. I have a monocular like that - it was for Japanese domestic market. There's usually superficial differences too (color etc).

                • @poohduck: "We can buy their stuff and get it shipped from Japan, but they don't export it for sales."

Yeah I mean most G-shocks these days are made in Thailand, so yes discontinued in Japan won't really affect the global market.
I was just using it more as an indicator. I assume once they discontinue it in Japan, global markets may follow later (I don't know maybe 3 to 5 years later).

But I have heard certain models of certain products which continue to be manufactured decades after being discontinued for the rest of the world.
I can't remember exactly but I think it was a car in Brazil South America, they still make and sell brand new Toyota Corolla (sorry not sure if this specific car) from like 10 years ago over there.
So if a particular Casio watch sells very well they will continue to manufacture it then sell it in that country.

Sorry my mistake. The $29 price was for a different G-shock, the GD-400 (not a Tough Solar model) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/500713

So WatchNerd's $82 deal I linked above from 2017 is a better indicator of a price drop. Keep in mind that was back in 2017 though, so in 2023 I would expect a slightly lower price than that.

          • +1

@harshbdmmaster718: I'm not sure that we'll see the prices of old. 2017 was probably at the height of low prices for watches and other things. For example the casio duro was $56 in 2017 - I doubt it will ever be that again either. Our dollar has changed quite a lot, along with the high prices during covid https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/291995

            • +1

@poohduck: Yeah good point I forgot about shrinkflation. I was just thinking regular price drops would cancel out price increase from weak dollar and covid and hopefully end up a tiny bit less but maybe I am being too optimistic.

    Sadly no Casioaks

  • One review says: “Hard to see when it's dark!” Maybe he returned it and we buy his?

    • +2

“Hard to see when it's dark!”

Yeah that's typical of negative LCD displays.

"Maybe he returned it and we buy his?"

Most likely yes. Unboxed, looked at and then sent straight back.
In my experience it's as good as new but with a hefty discount.

    • That model in the pic isn't even easy to read the hands either, pointless.

  • Corrected % off discount in description after using calculator. Sorry guys my original 40% to 25% off estimations were off.

Also GA110 is gone, link leads to 404 page error.

  • Sold out. Was it only 1???

  • All gone. Well done. 😁

the blue camo ga100 would be my pick of the lot, but the gba800-1a on my wrist is telling me i don't need another g any time soon

  • Damn. My gshocks band just died and 1 hour too late to get a replacement!

    • +3

Just the band is worn and damaged?

You should be able to find an official replacement from Shriro/Casio AU, they have official spare parts in stock for Aussie customers.
      https://casioservice.shriro.com.au/collections/casio-g-shock…

The search function worked well for me. You just might need to insert or remove the first hyphen depending on the model number you have. e.g. search "GA-120-1A band" and "GA120-1A band".
Each page will show what model's it is the "original band" for. e.g. this one is an exact replacement for the GA120-1A in this deal.
      https://casioservice.shriro.com.au/collections/casio-g-shock…

Even with +$11 shipping should end up much cheaper than $80 for a new watch.

You might be able to find a cheaper replacement band for G-shocks on eBay or Aliexpress, but keep in mind it might be inferior quality and the fit/colour may not match perfectly. But of course if it's much cheaper, than you can always buy another one and it might work out being less depending how long the cheapie lasts.

  • Cheers for showing me this was a thing you could do - Just grabbed a DW5600 for 80 bucks.

    • No worries. No real trick you basically just have to spot the Amazon Warehouse stock on the right side for any item, and it's usually quite obvious because the price has a chunk taken out of it.

Alright watched a few videos on the GA100 and it seems there are a few quirks about it.
Firstly a unique feature is the countdown timer has a recurring (repeat) mode. This can be very handy for people who need to take medication, or for whatever reason (training exercise?) want to be alerted every X mins or X hours on a constant cycle.

You set the timer to repeat, enter a time such as 4 hours. And every 4 hours the watch will sound an alarm to tell you to e.g. take your meds. And it keeps repeating infinitely.

One more is the time hand alignment is fully manual. It's all instructed in the user manual. But when you enter the hand adjust mode, you can ignore the small dial unless you use it for counting split seconds in the stopwatch mode. Skip straight to the main hand adjust mode and you can move the hands backwards and forwards until you align them (at 12 a clock I think).

Some people prefer this manual hand alignment, because no matter how unaligned the hands get you can align them perfectly. Apparently with some auto aligning Casio Ana/Digi's (e.g. Casioak) if you for example hit your watch really hard or drop it from really high and misalign the hands, the auto alignment can't correct for that. But the GA100's manual alignment allows for full alignment regardless.

Last one is the light. Because of it's design the light is right in the middle at the bottom, and the two LCD's showing date/seconds info are on the left and right. Especially for the negative LCD model, this means not enough light get's on the LCD's and it is hard to see the LCD info in the dark.
(If you are in a pinch, one youtube comment suggested putting your finger at the 6pm position as you trigger the light and it will allow more light to go onto the LCD's)
This makes me realize why the Casioak has the LCD in the position it has it in (the 4 to 5pm position), and it also has the LED light right under it so that it illuminates better.
So looks like for the GA100 at least the light really only is effective in telling the analog time when in the dark. It struggles to light up the LCD info properly.

  • GA110HR-1A had a price drop to $93.99 shipped.

Edit: looks like I accidentally deleted the last number of the link, which is why it showed as 404 error.

  • Some warehouse stock is back at lower prices.

Maybe someone else bought new and returned, or some of you found them difficult to read and returned them.

    GA100CF-1A (Black Camo) $80.24 $74.80 shipped https://www.amazon.com.au/G-SHOCK-GA100CF-1A-Year-Round-Anal…
    GA100CF-1A9 (Camo Black Gold) $86.62 $82.62 shipped https://www.amazon.com.au/GSHOCK-Automatic-analog-digital-Di…
    GA100CB-1A (Blue Camo) $95.13 $89.61 shipped https://www.amazon.com.au/GSHOCK-Automatic-analog-digital-Di…

GA100MB-1A (Black Black White) is probably the easiest to read, but Warehouse stock has gone up in price for some reason (was previously $82).
