Beware, this thing is huge. There will probably be lots of comments about how bad Invicta are, but if you want a big aviator fashion watch it's hard to argue with this deal. If they were that bad they wouldn't still be in business after all these years. If you want to read more on that argument, then read this thread on Watchuseek

You know, 28Degrees, whenever I see one of your posts I revel in the details knowing it is a certified bargain coming from you. I enjoy checking out the watch deals and pondering whether I should add another to my collection or not.

But then I think about Latitude Finance sticking the fees to the actual 28 Degrees card that I have and any associated good feelings towards you drop heavily.

So either you tell me a sob story of how you came up with that Ozb username. Either an awesome tale of how you thought of it BEFORE GE Finance doled out that financial product or perhaps one bad hair day you fought with your girlfriend and you looked at the weather and it was 28 degrees.

If not may I plead with fellow Ozbargainers to petition you to a username change, perhaps Watchnut would be suitable to the reputation you're establishing on Ozb.

Haha, I'm not affiliated with them, I just liked the name.
There are no fees if you log into your account & pay the exact amount owing via their portal.

        I know. I'm just trolling buddy :)

      • +2

I was expecting so much more from this…haha.

        • I know right lol.

28Degrees, there seems to be a unanimous vote for your story. Perhaps you could share a 2-page abstract of the auto-bio you're planning to work on in 15 years?

@sky blu: I have thought about a name change as you suggested, maybe WatchNerd.

Now I'm glad Rolf Harris was already taken when I registered.

  • Damn, missed the Casio deal. Looked good.
I've been hoping for another deal on the Ediface chrono to come up again. I was out of the country, but would have jumped on that…

Despite the Invicta being the size of a pizza tray (48mm), that is dead-set the largest crown on any watch I have ever seen!

    • +1

Invicta website says it's actually 52mm
Also 19mm thick, plus the watch band goes underneath!!!

      • +1

        Ludicrous!

  • +2

    Excellent work as usual.

Damn. Left it until I got home, and the Invicta deal was gone. It was [1] a watch I'd be able to read in my dotage as my vision fades, [2] a handy weight for aerobic exercise and [3] a really handy explainable weapon to have to hand for dealing with muggers.

News flash: Young gun in wristwatch scene inducted to Ozbargain hall of fame.

A watch enthusiast, formerly known as 28Degrees, has been chosen as the next wristwatch technical specialist on the popular community website Ozbargain.

It is reported that the young man met with local legend, Sky Blu, for some spiritual direction and the decision to change his name to WatchNerd was heavily influenced by some 'very wise words' (sic). Hard work and dedication have certainly paid off for the young man through the numerous posts he has contributed to Ozbargain and the reputation WatchNerd earns today is nothing less of an amazing achievement.

Ilikeit, the tenacious 'Clark Kent' reporter of The Weekly Ozblurb, is keen to set up an interview with Sky Blu the Legend to find out the details of their exchange and why the seemingly more appropriate moniker "WatchNut" was eventually dropped.

On our next issue please stay tuned for the marvelous story behind the codename of our local crime-fighting agent, "PJC" and his incredible feats in debunking disingenuous deals. The true Batman of Oztham.

Haha, thanks for the guidance. It was time for a change.

Fame at last, well apart from my modelling career, obviously, but I still haven't been paid this month … https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4349738/redir

Is it truly necessary to join wordpress etc merely to change one's profile picture?

I think so, that's how I did it anyway.

It was like a bad visit to the dentist …

        • @PJC: Gees everyone suited up aye. Guess I shall reveal myself after all these years on hiatus.

        • @sky blu: You may as well.
