SSD prices seem so volatile.. If your not in NEED of one right now id wait till they settle down a bit..

The best time to buy technology is when you need it.

The problem with that is when do you honestly "need" technology.

        BTW good price !

        • When your hard drive is failing, it's much better to start looking for replacement than waiting until it completely won't boot. Thus that is the best time to switch to SSD.

MSY is doing 118 on the Intel 330 120GB SSD, 94c cheaper plus you dont need to wait for the shipping, can enjoy it on the same day you paid for the SSD!

    • yeah unless your not near an msy store :) and sometimes shipping save's you time, fuel hassle..ext..

but when u need something right away then the absolute cheapest price isnt always a factor

no issues with them here.. worst case it can take a week or two for the product.. but normally its a few days

  • Wished they had the 1.8" ones for that price!

  • Does anyone know what the major, noticeable differences between this and the 520 are? I mean in terms of actual performance, rather than the difference in specs. There seems to be quite a price difference between the two series.

I would say 320 are more reliable since they use the older Intel Controller which is extremely mature. However as a trade off you get lower speeds, since the new controllers (Sandforce) which are in the 520's always seems to have issues, however since you are with Intel, they usually fix these issues reasonably fast.

In normal day activities, you won't really notice the difference between 520 and 320. Since the snappyness of a OS loading or programs loading isn't depending on the speed of the drive, it is dependent on the seek speed, e.g. how fast it can locate a file.

i've had a 520 for a couple of months now with no issues. it was faster than the 330 in all tests iirc.

  • Intel 330 Vs OCZ Agility ???
