HelloFresh: 55% Upsized Cashback for New Customers @ ShopBack

30

55% for new customers and 40% for returning ones who cancelled their accounts at least 3 months ago.

Just noticed this as I am interested in signing to try their food service after moving to new place. Seems like a good amount of Cashback. Not sure if the friend referral program is better?

The friend referral I used was for $125 week 1, $20 week 2 and 3, plus delivery fees.

I ordered 3 meals 4 people for week 1 and paid $9.99 for delivery.

    • I'm new to food delivery service, so is that a better deal? I was eyeing using the friend referral system, wasn't sure which is better? Cuz one the terms is that we can't use friends referral for this Cashback promo.

Hello fresh has gone down hill massively. Protein portions are much smaller also.

    • I see. I probably will try them for a few weeks to see how it goes until I get my new place's kitchen set up.

Use a friends ref if that's the case. Trial week one for free or up to $125 and pay delivery fee of $9.99.

Cancel if no good after first delivery.

Tried it during a Westpac promo (~80% cashback) two weeks ago. You still need to chop things up, mix ingredients, line the oven tray etc. The only convenience is you don't have to go to the shop. Depend on how much kitchen stuff you have, frozen meals could work better for the short term. I was also overwhelmed by all the contents, didn't touch it until i had my day off.

    • Wait, so you still need to cook them yourself? Or just pop them into the microwave?

      • +1

You have to cook them; think of it as a recipe service wherein you pick what you want to eat, they supply most of the ingredients (some pantry stuff i.e. eggs and that, or oil, you have to provide yourself) and the recipe, and you cook it.

        • OK thanks, definitely more work than I initially thought. Might stick to ubereats in this case

@Jared17: You want a meal delivery service like delidoor rather than a grocery delivery box.

Or youfoodz, but that has both gone downhill in quality and the owners made racist comments at an event

            • @Domingo: I see. Interesting. Might check them out later. I initially thought hello fresh is standard food delivery service with quick easy pre prepared healthy meals. Didn't realize we need to still cook the ingredients

@Jared17: Yup I was surprised lol Glad I could cancel without much hassle. The four meal bags left are still sitting in the fridge staring at me.

            • @Alley Cat: Haha. Thanks for the warning. Think I'll try them when my new place kitchen is ready instead.

I like it. Very much convenient for a single individual who didn’t really know how to cook anything else but meat and 3 veg. Think it works out much cheaper for me too.

Same here; I use it so that I dont have to worry about what to cook and how much to buy at the supermarket plus its a form of portion control so a meal of two becomes dinner and then lunch that i take to work the next day.

      • Yep, exactly the same. Saves me buying lunch from a takeaway joint or something else.

    • OK thanks for feedback. Sounds something I like to try later on down the line as I like idea of just cooking my healthy meal with everything ready. But not now as the whole place is in a mess lol.
