Compared to the other models the Pro 2 is most similar to the Xiaomi Scooter 3 except with a larger battery and more range, while the Scooter 4 Pro and Segway F40A refurb are both better scooters overall.

Featuring a 300W front motor with 600W max power, up to 45km range, 3 speed modes with up to 25km/h speed, eABS + rear disc brake, regenerative brakes, 8.5" pneumatic tires, IP54 water resistance, 2W front headlight, suitable for riders up to 100kg and can be connected to the Mi Home app via Bluetooth for settings, locking etc.

The Pro 2 was my first eScooter too so I can answer any questions you have about it.

Please ensure you follow local laws surrounding electric scooters (legal in WA, NT, QLD, ACT & TAS) and always wear protective equipment.

  • I had this humming along with custom fw and 32kmh top speed. Figured I should update the to latest cfw recently and it's so bad. Ended up going back to official fw as the throttle was terrible. You have to build all the settings yourself and I couldn't get the power curve and cruise settings right.

I just want the regular settings with a higher top speed!

Was the new patcher this one? The old one still exists so I'd probably try that out if that's the case. I still have mine hacked for cruise control and a faster speed.

      • Yeah the new one that covers all models. I tried also going back to the legacy one for pro2 and the throttle was still borked.

        • +1

I'm pretty sure KERS is the culprit in the custom firmware - it's been so long I can't quite remember.

"No KERS" shows under "Braking & energy recovery" and I think that needs to be ticked.

          • @Clear: Nah, not kers. That has always been disabled. It's about the curve. Whenever I go custom now, the acceleration is way too high and my motor cuts out. Then when I release, it slows down too quickly. Yes, sounds like kers but it's not.

            • @7hours 44min ago: Yea it's not KERS. KERS just ensures power is consistently being sent to the motor, so that when you leave the throttle there's subtle energy regen through e-brake.

Just use SHFW through the scooter hacking app. I've been using it for 2 years, and was one of the first to use it back when it was being built. I know the devs personally, and they've been working very hard on the firmware. 0.2.6 is the newest if I remember right. You have your own control over the curves, and can input curves based on amps. Pick DPC and you won't ever have to worry about the curve being too powerful, cause you'll have your own control over it all.

              • @Zackeroo: I've tried DPC but can't get it right. Can you suggest to them to provide a preset that emulates a good official build but have a variable top speed?
I don't have time to figure out curves etc. Yes I know it's free and yes I know it's my job to figure it out, I'd just rather do 25kmh than spend a few hours on it.

                • @7hours 44min ago: Unfortunately, they are not able to do that as SHFW manages power very differently from how the original FW does. The aim of SHFW is to provide the rider with as much throttle control as possible. Figuring out what curve works for you is mainly just trial and error, but they’ve tried their best to assist you by providing recommended amp values, and even an auto curve generator.

It won’t take hours to do it lol. Either stick with stock fw or take 5 minutes to set your curves.

    • I haven't used custom firmware on mine. 25km is enough for me. While it would be fun to try higher for a while, what I would really like is an official way to change the low speed option to be 10km/h instead of 5 to match local laws.

      • It’s partly about higher top speed with custom firmware. The other part is better curves for acceleration or 3kph startup vs 5kph and little things like cruise control kick in levels and such - just little tweaks that make it just a little bit better.

    • I had this humming along with custom fw and 32kmh top spee

I am also running the same fw and speed. Also changed it so the motor kicks in at a slower speed, which allows for very slow cruising or a quicker start from idle.

This scooter is awesome. I recently used it to transport some building materials. It's quite funny how versatile this thing can be.

  • This isn't legal in SA Right?

    • +6

Nah not street legal. Only WA, NT, QLD, ACT and TAS are street legal.

      • +2

        Thanks mate :(

      • +4

Stupid backward NSW still hasn't legalised these 🤦‍♂️

  • +4

Gotta love living in a nanny state like VIC. That said I have one and I still ride it.

FYI I was scooting along at 25km/h on the road, no helmet and the cops drove right past me. You'd have to get a bit of a prickle of a cop to bust you for it imo.

    • Agree I'd ride one. State based laws like these are simply ridiculous.

      • +1

I agree that they should be legalised, the fact they aren't and the Police aren't enforcing the law is resulting in people thinking there's no rules at all.
As I said, because scooter riders are almost exclusively only going to hurt themselves, Police seldom seem to care. They'll just call the ambulance when the low IQ, high speed riders without helmets get messed up.

    • -2

25km/h with no helmet? They probably didn't want to waste their time with someone irresponsible who can only really do significant harm to themselves. If you're on a footpath, different story.

      • -3

Well I've done over 100,000km's on various motorbikes including a Yamaha R6 at speeds up to 250km/h wearing only jeans (bit dumb in hindsight but have never crashed)… I'm still alive .

So I guess riding around on a piddly scooter is pretty tame in comparison… depends on your skill level really. What looks risky to one person is a walk in a park for another.

        • Well, that's exactly the response I expected…
The road is not a racetrack, it contains all sorts of obstacles you don't control, including awful drivers. Yes, YOU don't control all that is around you, hence skill level will not always save you. Proper professional race rider / drivers have died on the road in fact (aside from pretenders like yourself). If you want to do what you do on bikes, fine… I hope you don't repeat this stupidity in cars though, I'm assuming you're the type who does though. This puts many others at risk.
What really boggles my mind are these parents who buy their children e-scooters and allow them to ride at such speeds without protection. Watch them throw their fingers at all and sundry if their child is killed, no responsibility.

          • -2

@R00D: Thanks Dad. Guess I must just be 100,000km's of pure luck then.

Yeah I had mates bring along professional racers on go karts and other cars etc saying the same as you… I beat them too. What exactly is a professional does that make you good?

            • @4foxache: Even though you're an adult, you're juvenile.
Your bragging with regards to breaking the law, your claim that superiority on the racing track leaves you immune to any risk on the road, etc.
The more you continue, the more idiotic you look.

    • +5

Protective equipment is the final safety stop when absolutely everything else has gone wrong. A good helmet will protect you against being disfigured/brain damaged/dead.

Watch a scooter crash compilation and see how invisible the obstacles can be or how many faces meet concrete.

Cost wise and risk wise, I don't think it's worth it

      /2 cents

      • +4

Whenever I see people who ride these things without a helmet, I just think they must not value their brain much. Leave them be.

        • I get a feeling the Police think the same way… They're only really danger to themselves.

  • Does anyone else have difficulties applying the coupon code?
When I enter any of the two coupon codes in the eBay check-out screen (where it says: "Gift cards, vouchers, coupons"), it gives me a message: This code can't be applied to your order.

    Any ideas?

    • Works for me, log out of your account maybe

  • Should I get this or spend the extra and get 4 pro? Just using it for daily commute

  • I bought this (Pro 2) for $599 and the 1S for $399 2 years ago Ish for my kids daily school run. (Had the M365 before that) Has been pretty good during that time and the kids have flogged it. Flat tyres are a monthly thing so get a solid tyre asap. is a bitch to change. I hacked it to a 32klm hr unit. The 1S battery declined well over half (Hardly ridden)

One of my biys upgraded to the Mach 10 now, It is a beast and makes the Pro 2 look like a toy.

    • +1

I put tyre slime in my Pro 2 and have never had a flat. One years of use three times and week to and from work.
