    I kinda feel like any small heat sink may just cause more problems than good. If they don't dissipate heat quickly enough, all they may do is move energy/temperature from the hot controller to the nand, where you absolutely don't want it.

      This doesn't look much different to the one that came with my $300 motherboard, in fin height anyway.

      I think in this case it's the extra heat absorption and surface area for cooling that will help. I can't imagine this having worse performance or be detrimental to the life of the SSD in any way compared to no heatsink.

      Mine also arrived today (ordered on 31st Jan 2023).

      Plan on using it in the Dell Optiplex 7060. Still undecided if I should rubber band or cable tie, will test out later.

        Zip ties would last longer term. Since there's no airflow going over M.2 slot due to the blower style CPU fan it's going to get a bit toasty there.
