This is a big discount off its normal price, therefore it is a deal.. just because its not as cheap as the best deal does not mean its not a deal. People need drives all the time and you cant always get the once a year or two price of $21/tb :) The last cheapest deal was 26/11/2021 posted here, we cant all just wait around waiting for that when people may need drives now at an acceptable discount to replace a faulty drive/expand or get their backup started. This drive is $699 from Officeworks and $769 from JBHIFI, yet somehow you think this deal is not acceptable.

If we all waited around to post only the very best deal to beat the previous deal, not much would be posted on this website. However you want to look at it, this is a deal to many people just because you dont believe so and would rather get the rare price drop every 1-3 years.. We cant all wait around that long when we need drives hence posting this for people it may help for various reasons.

If it's a rubbish deal, show us better now.

      Your neg is rubbish.

      • HDD buyers timescales are longer than average

        • +1

Yeah it might be $469 at ple but it's Australian stock, not German stock. its also not even the same product or brand, "You aren't comparing apples to apples"

@harryozz: Helping 1 person makes it all worthwhile :) No need to be toxic

            • +1

@harryozz: Imagine coming back days later to insult someone with a deal that didn't exist at the time. Let alone, a completely different product. LMAO.

              Time to move on.

              Accept your revoked neg mate.

      Cool, post it.

The 20tb drive went on a big sale end of year boxing day sales, currently the drive i posted is the cheapest per/tb for if people need one now at an acceptable discount. https://diskprices.com/?locale=au&condition=new&capacity=10-…

        • No worries :) A mate told me about it the other day, very handy!

  • the deal isnt really good.

Good deals but depends on how many drives you want or can store in a rack or case etc.. Obviously having more 18tb drives means less drives overall and i believe a better chance of getting a good internal red or white label drive (correct me if im wrong) :) Depends on peoples needs, and i personally dont buy drives under 14tb for a few reasons.

12Tb for $299 = $25/Tb, and local stock. Smaller capacity, but the additional benefits make this a much better deal I think.

I'd personally buy six of these compared to four of the 18Tb drives as it offers more flexibility with RAID/redundancy options etc

A good option for those wanting that size if it suits their preferred raid setup and how much room they have for drives. Me using Unraid does not matter too much for me, but may for others :)
