Can get for $844 using eBay's Spend and Save promo

    • Spend and Save code doesnt work for me. Sure its an eligible item?

      • +2

The code would’ve sent to your eBay acc as it’s a long string of characters, starting with SNSMD3

        • +2

          So targeted code then

    • +18

it comes with gow tho, not just the system itself

      • +14

People have been jumping eagerly to say that every time PS5 post comes up that they forgot to read now :D

  • +1

Saw someone on fb selling Ps5 gow brand new for 850.its coming down

    • +11

      Hopefully scalpers are sweating.

      • +5

Scalpers have been out a while now. Amazon hasn't been out of stock of the consoles since November

    • +1

Saw a couple people selling brand new ps5 with a couple games and extra controller for $650, didn't even bother messaging them as chances are they are scammers though don't know how they scam if it's COD.

      • +6

they kill you and take your money

        • +1

Wow, those PS5 scalpers have really fallen on hard times!

  • +6

Remember when PS5’s and toilet paper weee hard to get !! Good times

    • +2

Came at the cost of increased prices on both

  • +14

I just finished God of War and Ragnarok over the Christmas break, my god was a fantastic 44 hours.

    • +1

I also did this, but I mainlined the story and clocked in at 21 hours or so. I had to get it out of the way to start Callisto protocol.

      Great game!

  • Off topic: JB has a bundle with GOW but do you think I can exchange it for another game?

    • +8

No, because the GOW is digital and comes in the box. The box has GOW art all over it.

    • +2

No I'm pretty sure it's a branded bundle , GOW box and it has a digital code.
Just sell the code and buy your game.

      • +3

Do not sell on eBay unless you want to receive $0 for it (fraudulent claim will be made by the buyer and you are not protected for digital goods. Although you could physically post the code to them in the mail)

My order from Big W still hasn't arrived. From 28/12.

I reckon someone from Auspost or Courier nicked it

They are making me to wait for 28 days for local delivery before investigation, I believe I should request a PayPal refund

    • If it was purchased via eBay definitely open an item not received case if it doesn't arrive by next week.

    • +1

Something is definitely wrong there. My PS5 order from Big W arrived 2 days after placing my order.

      • Yeah I know its something wrong and it's been stuck at Chuloora centre since 3rd Jan

Reckon someone stole it and never delivered

        Someone greedy at auspost

Has no further updates on tracking

        • Yep happened with expensive speaker stands i ordered from Amazon USA, as final leg goes through AusPost and not Amazon AU.

Tracking was fine all the way to Sydney with Amazon, then i got the AusPost "scanned in depo" alert on their app and that was the final movement for the next 2 weeks. Amazon were quick to refund, but AusPost wanted an investigation to conduct. They eventually came back as 'lost in transit. It does seem like it was stolen by an AP employee since the last movement was them scanning it.

Who is making you wait even longer? Big W? You can contact PayPal or your CC provider if you paid that way via PayPal.

          • @f0x13: Yes Big W is making me wait. What do you suggest I should do? PayPal or eBay report non delivery

            • @neonlight: Depends where you are located and where sent from. Big W can take 2-3 weeks from eastern states to WA for example, there has also been flooding which has impacted supply routes.

              • @cook99: The problem is its all within NSW, sending from Southwest Metro to Metro its all within Metro its impossible to take 3 weeks to get to me.
Big W opened a case with Auspost and reply from shipit courier says "they are trying hard to deliver the package"

Which to me its total BS. Someone definitely took it, not lost in transit

                • @neonlight: Yeah that does sound suss, either way you'll get it or a refund but it's pretty annoying to have to keep waiting, hopefully it works out soon

                  • @cook99: Yeah the thing is Big W won't chase the case til Australia day which is annoying. Was thinking if I can put in a eBay non-delivery or Paypal dispute

It means no PS5 for me as well if I get a refund

                • @neonlight: I was sure they'd lost one of my parcels. Not a small item so don't think it would have gotten missed, but not that big so easy enough to transport. Sent express post on 28/11. Sydney to Melbourne. Received a couple of other parcels sent later from Sydney by regular post over the next couple of weeks. They refused to investigate. Eventually it turned up on the 15th of December. No explanation as to why it had taken so long.

                  • @Miss B: Auspost seriously poor service and track record for delivery.

            • @neonlight: I wouldn't wait for Big W, send Auspost Twitter a DM with your tracking number. They've been excellent for the few times I've contacted them for extremely late packages (more than a week after delivery date). They'll find out where it is within a day or two, or if it can be found at all.

As for a refund, i'd suggest to hit up Paypal along with proof+communciations you have from BigW. It's been almost 4 weeks and just going from within Sydney, that's way too long. I havn't experienced PayPal refunds myself so can't speak to how smoothly it will go.

              • @f0x13: Never tried Twitter with Auspost. Does it actually work? Big W said they lodged a case with Auspost and Auspost contacted the courier and said they are working hard and say will come before Australia day…. This has been a week since

          • @f0x13: So big w finally repost the item and was declared as lost in transit….

HODL for PS5 Pro at $700

    PS5 can't run some games at 60fps

    • 2025?

      • +7

Right? Imagine pausing your enjoyment of gaming for years just to save $100. That's no way to live.

        • +3

Agreed though pc gaming is where I draw the line as $3k for the 4090 for something that gets outdated in 2 years is a bit much

  • +4

When PS2 first came out in 2000 I was happy to spend $750 at KMart. 22 years later with way more advanced PS5 I cringe. Not sure what gives.

    • +8

At that time, not many other entertainment options existed.

No smart phones, internet was still in its infancy, no streaming TV, video rental stores were still the go to place of latest post-cinema movies, etc.

So like you, I bought from Kmart and was impressed that the PS2 when had usb slots. I didn't know what they were used for as I was still using zip and floppy disks to hold my university assignments.

Today there is an abundance of entertainment and peripheral options, and can be had for cheaper.

    • +4

You are 22 years older, more mature and have life responsibilities and toys mean less to you now than they did before. Just saying because the same thing happened to me and now I am over 50 and am able to start focusing a bit back onto myself it is too late because I have no idea what I want or what I like, it's all gone :-(

    • +1

Yeah different stage in life. I was teen back then and PS2 was the greatest thing ever for me as a gamer. Back then it's true not much peripherals and entertainment. We treasure and value stuff more. These days too many options even for kids we didn't have much toys and options and now they don't treasure any toys they get and simply play for short while before moving on to the next. If a game is too difficult they just skip and move onto another. Similar to us changing titles from one to another unfinished.

    • +1

PS2 had backwards compatibility for the PS1 so it for me was also a no brainier in 2001. 2 consoles for the price of 1. With the poor management of Sony Backwards compatibility.. I'm also not in a rush to get a PS5. I also can't mentally pay above the original RRP of $749 AUD for the disc model. It's 4 year old tech. Imagine paying more for a 2070 GTX today as opposed to when it came out.

      • +2

I remember borrowing new release PS1 games from Blockbuster and burning them and returning the same day. Those were the days. I remember also needing to patch some to get around the copy protection e.g. FFIX

When I got my PS2 I only played FFX, FFX-2, The Bouncer and FFXII. Then I sorta lost interest. Just last week I got my PS2 out after figuring out you can now load PS2 ROMs onto a USB using custom firmware. A whole generation of games I never experienced is awesome.

        • Ah didn't know that I have been using swap magic do tell how to get games on usb stick lol

          • @neonlight: Get this for $21 on Amazon

. You plug it into your USB slot at the front, and put your PS2 ISOs on another USB stick. Sometimes there is lag with FMVs, so an alternative is to connect your computer via ETH, but I couldn't be bothered doing that.

            Currently playing GT3 now

    • BTW, I still have the still working modified PS2, standard PS3 and PS4.

    • +1

$750 in 2000 after inflation is at least $1300 today. So basically a $550 discount. 😉

    Thanks

    • Have used the code above. Thank you

  • Why would I need 5 discs of GOW?

  • Would really appreciate a code if someone has one - my order was cancelled in the last catch order so fingers crossed this time!

  • -1

New iteration coming this year. Probably worth waiting for a mid-generation performance upgrade.

    • +1

Yeah, I'm still plugging my PS4 quite happily. Will probably even wait for the pro version .

    • -2

There are only rumours at the moment, and none of them suggest a performance difference.

      • -1

No chance for any performance gains. PS4 Pro was a one off, only released because of 4K and HDR being a huge influence on gaming. Also to compete with PC and Xbox. No new tech is here, or that they can market as a significant upgrade. Makes no business sense, especially that only now have majority of people got the PS5. Likely be a slim model, with stripped down features, thats it.

  • The Catch one looks to be OOS. Can add to Cart but when you load it, it's gone.

    • Try the buy now button? Seems to work

      • Legend. Thanks, I'll give it a go.

  • +3

Glad to see the PS5 stock normalise and even go on special, hope all those scalpers are left out of pocket

  • +1

The only GOW I know is Gears of war. Sorry.
