Honestly on BF I expected the Q35 to come down to the $99 to $109 shipped range after the Q45 came out. But seems like due to shrinkflation or whatever it's just not happening yet.
But to be optimistic I like to think one day they will clear out the Q30's for $79 and have the Q35's drop to $99 to $109 to fill the spot of the discounted $99 Q30 price drop a year ago.

Still I can recommend the Q35 over the Q30 for one important reason. The ANC on the Q35 works when the headphone is wired, meaning you can use the ANC for in flight entertainment and I think using them on a plane is a popular reason for buying ANC headphones.

  • Everyday I wait to see a 3camels alert the Anker q35 has dropped sub $100, or the motion plus at $80 or less … and everyday I am disappointed

    • "Everyday"

There's your problem right there! Don't check every day lol.
Setup price alert, or check less often and just hope to see it drop at that moment.

Here is another method I sometimes use. Browse the Amazon page mindlessly on your phone once in awhile while doing/waiting for something else. I have found a few price drops this way.

      • Yeah that’s what I meant I hope to see an alert email but it’s always for some other random thing that I totally forgot to disable alerts on

My bad you wrote "3camels alert" I didn't read the alert part properly in context.

Or you could try your luck with finding an Amazon AU voucher reward and have a chance to get that price you want right now?
Not sure where they are still doing them (be careful of dodgy places). But the last one I remember getting was from Maccas Monolopoly. $30 Amazon AU voucher I think.
Another one I remember others talking about was through the TikTok app points system. Not sure how that one worked but yeah I think legit places are offering them.

Edit: I think the first place I heard was from an online survey joint, a reputable one but I forgot the name. I think I heard they stopped Amazon vouchers though. Also this one takes more effort and the reward is less.
I would still use a burner email for all these attempts.

This is the best price as per camelcamel. I dont see it dropping it below this anytime soon.

    • "This is the best price as per camelcamel."

Yeah thanks for mentioning that BinnyC. I think I wrote it in the BF deal I linked but forgot to mention it in this post.

Whats the difference between Q35 and Q45?

How is this compared to Sony WH-1000XM4?

    • +1

I would say the Q35 will achieve about 75% the ANC of the category leading XM4's ANC strength.
In other words if you have never tried expensive ANC headphones you will be satisfied with the Q35, but if you have XM4's already you might be a bit disappointed.

Other than that the Q35 has all other features that the XM4 has including tapping the earcup for transparency mode and a companion app to adjust ANC strength/mode, EQ and more settings. The main reason for the lower cost will be lower build quality and materials used. Not saying the Q35 is going to be terrible it will still feel great especially the earpads etc but if you compared them side by side you would definitely notice the XM4 does feel a lot more premium.

And that reminds me. I think I have seen some old deals on XM4 factory seconds in the $160 range from the Sony eBay store. I think the deal was over a year old and they haven't popped up at that price ever since, but yeah it surprised me if your goal was to just get an XM4 regardless you could get one for $31 more than the Q35.

    • I got this during the Black Friday sale. Overall it's good on the sound and features but the ANC is disappointing. I could still hear some noises. I don't have the Sony to compare but if comparing this to my cheaper TaoTronics, the latter's ANC performed better. I can only assume that Q35's foam earcups are much softer so it didn't provide enough seal.

"I could still hear some noises."

This is a big mistake many people expect from ANC, especially from the class leading XM4 that it will remove all noise. Even the best ANC cannot get rid of all external noise.
I have read a number of negative reviews on the XM4's saying they were disappointed because they thought the best ANC meant complete silence.

Those positive feedback who are most impressed with the best ANC's strength is the way it manages to cancel lower and mid frequencies in a louder environment such as on a plane. While the XM4 is very popular, in terms of the best cancellation of lower frequencies according to feedback Airpods Max does the best job at the expense of irritatingly high ANC cabin pressure (better than XM4 on low frequencies only, also this was over a year ago and I heard Apple sent an update to the Airpod's Max's which since have changed the way the ANC is. I assume the update weakened it a bit to reduce cabin pressure complaints).

"I can only assume that Q35's foam earcups are much softer so it didn't provide enough seal."

Yep this is the best bet as to why your Taotronics do a better job for you than the Anker's. The difference is in the amount of passive noise cancellation from each headphones which depends on your head shape and how good a seal you are getting from the earpads.
Passive noise cancellation is the first step towards good ANC, in a way it does the most of the noise cancellation like earmuffs would then the ANC (hybrid ANC in these modern headphones) uses internal and external microphones to do the rest of the fine tuning.

    • Q35 is $300 less

  • Well q35 for $130 compared to Sony 1000XM4 on sale for say $300 plus, i think looking at reviews, you will get 80% performance which is great.

As OP mentioned, side by side there will be noticeable difference but for most people, q35 should be adeqaute.

And if one can get Soundcore Q45, you may get 5 to 10% extra performance.

  • Is a carry case included with the headphones?

    Thank you.
