Hi there
Looking to get new lower cost 85 inch TV and really struggling between 2 main options. My budget doesn't extend really much higher than these (able to get pretty good deals), as recently got the Hisense PL1H Projector really affordably for 'movie room' Overall, been pretty impressed by that (and post some views to those deal topics)
Low Cost TV Options
1. Hisense 85A7HAU - can get for $1450
2. Samsung 85BU8000 - can get for $1640
Which one
1. Hisense - 85A7HAU - $1450 deal
- 'direct lit' - which seems to imply back lit with LED's as thicker
- Dolby Vision, HDR10+, believe filmmaker mode
- Dolby Atmos (yes only 2 speakers, but believe means processing to eARC as well
- Wide gamut colour - 1billion colours (seems to be same as samsung 'crystal colour'
- PVR capability (haved used before)
- eARC
- VIDAA5 smart TV interface. I have the VIDAA6 on the PL1H projector and it launches apps much faster than 2019 Samsung Tizen or Google TV have on other or dongle)
- 3 year warranty
- Samsung - 85BU8000 - $1640 deal
- edge lit - which means thinner, but not sure if as great a control. Says can use then slim mount, but slim mount really won't work on stud walls (never really advertised)
- Dolby Digital Plus - can't find anywhere if it can actually send Dolby Atmos through eArc for any app content launched from Tizen
- HDR10+, meaning no Dolby Vision, don't think filmmaker mode either
- Crystal colour - which seems to mean 1Billion colours - wide colour gamut
- no PVR capability
- eArc, but the 3rd HDMI and ethernet sticks right out back of unit, makes no sense why
- 2022 Tizen - have read some reviews that it is much slower than previous versions
- 1 year warranty
Which one? Really don't have budget to go up much in price
thanks!
Where are you getting these prices from?
