Looks like a serial killer outfit.

Sounds like something only a serial killer would only know….

That last part of your nickname checks out.

          Thats why I purchased 8

That’s what you need at 45 degrees in Australia! Perfect!

Two-way zippers are awesome, can't recommend them enough on longer coats. I didn't know what they were for on my jacket and when I pulled up on the second one I was like, "whoa! more flexibility in movement!"

  • Great, bought two for stocking stuffers for Christmas this year!

$150 stocking stuffers, some lucky people out there!

    Doesn't fit my shotgun, pass.

Hell that is a lot of $ for a fancy raincoat

The fact you still have to pay shipping even after spending $157.99 on this atrocity is ridiculous.

    Bought 2.

Can anyone more knowledgeable than I explain why these are better than these = https://www.kmart.com.au/product/active-unisex-packable-rain…

all I see is both are 100% polyester.

Going to Japan in September and hiking through Hokkaido, will the Kmart suffice?

    • you probably dont want longish jackets for hiking.

    • Not sure if a serious question. Surely one knows why Nike costs more than Kmart regardless?

But yeah I doubt you'd want that for hiking.

      • serious question. I've only hiked when it's been summer, hot and sunny. First trip to Japan and hiking in Hokkaido island.

Not exactly versed in wet weather gear.

I'm not talking about the hiking.

I'm talking about the price differences….

Looking at the weather there, I'd say it's entirely dependent on when you are going.

But I personally wouldn't want long loose items if it's cold hiking. Seems a hassle. Fitting warm clothes in the cold would presumably suit better.

I like and wear coats all the time, but they aren't remotely appropriate for hiking imo.

          • @scuderiarmani: Fair enough, that's a good way to put it. Will give these a miss.

@he11bent: Only need to look at things like snow gear as an example. Fitting.

I hiked Cradle Mountain and got bouts of snow, rain and wind with the occasional blue sky.
First you need a waterproof outer layer. You'll want it to be slightly oversized as you'll probably want to wear some warm layers below or even a down jacket if it's really cold. If you want a downjacket, get one that rolls up nice and small like a Uniqlo one. That way if you get warm you can take it off and stuff it in your backpack.
Mid-layer you'll want something breathable that can also keep you warm. Wear something fleece or wool.
Base-layer you'll want something that hugs your skin but can wick away sweat. This layer doesn't need to be too thick.
Your hiking pant of choice. Doesn't need to be thick at all because your core will be nice and toasty anyway.
          Merino socks are a must.
          Waterproof hiking boots.

Add on a waterproof hat or a beanie. Gloves optional.

Nike has absolutely lost the plot in recent years.

Lorna Jane is another that think their shit don't stink too. Both absurdly overpriced, trying to make it look like they are of higher quality.

If you're paying $300 for sportswear you really need to open your eyes a bit.

Nike is my favourite brand and I agree.
