  • they're a great tyre

  • If the fourth a SPARE? Asking for a friend.

  • +3

    Any good?

Mod: Removed request to split. Please use classifieds.

    • I heard they are pretty good, better than Potenza. Potenza is more on performance end and do around 40,000km. These ones have 50,000km guarantee. I just got those, so far they are great on road.

      • +1

Potenza barely able to do 30,000 on my IS200. 50,000km guarantee need to add in wheel alignment and checks every 6 months and fix whatever issue they find.

The 50,000km guarantee only give you the missing km prorated.

        • +2

It's pretty much a scam. If you are not happy with the tyres just try another brand, if you still get about the same mileage, then live with it, it's probably your driving style or the car. If you get more mileage, great, less, try another brand, etc, etc. Just keep on trying different brands to you find one you like.

These guarantees are worthless. They keep you coming back over servicing (alignments) and keep you as a customer as you continue to buy these tires because you got some prorata discount back. Wouldn't be surprised if the prorata amount is based on the RRP of the tires.

    • sounds like some Tyre Pyramid Scheme. This could work unless you get in last.

  • +3

I've had these tyres on a 4 for 3 deal before. They're an excellent tyre and can vouch for the quality of them.

  • Do the other stores price match or beat these types of deals

  • +2

Good tyre. Done over 80,000km now (205/60R16). Maybe another 10,000km to go.

    • -1

My kind of ozbargainer! No handbrakeys, no burnouts or drifting, gets bazillion kilometers per litre!

  • +1

Great tyres. Would buy them again.

  • +1

Can confirm these Serenity+ tyres are very good indeed, quieter on the open road and grippier in the wet, and so far lasting better on a mazda6 than the previous OEM 'regular' bridgestones

  • +1

booked mine in an hour ago. was tossing up between these and the potenza.

good to hear some ozb positive feedback

    • Potenza is better for sports, so runs out quickly.

  • +8

    SERENITY NOW!!

    • +2

      Hows the serenity….on this model

      • +2

You know, I think the "serenity" thing doesn't work. It just bottles up the pressure, and eventually, you blow… I mean the tire blows.

  • Anyone know if Costco sell these and for how much?

    • Costco aren't always cheaper, which is good to know. Sometimes they lure people into thinking they'll always be the cheapest.

      • +1

They usually are the cheapest, but when I was looking at new tyres 2 years ago, I went with this same deal instead of basic Bridgestones at Costco, for roughly the same price

    • +4

I believe Serenity Plus is exclusive to Bridgestone Tyre Shops.

    • No, they don't. They're a tyre you can only get from Bridgestone directly.

  • these tyres only for Sedan. other promo is $150 cashback for 4 tyres on SUV

    • Are lot of the tyre profiles listed on the page will fit an SUV.

  • +1

Do only Bridgestone stores carry these? Cant seem to find them at other retailers

    • That's my understanding too.

    • +1

      yep that's correct.

      • That's unforunate I have flybuy dollars I would like to use at Mycar, any other bridgestone tyres a similiar quality that Mycar sell?

    • I had issues even finding any Bridgestone stores with Turanza Serenity Plus Tyres 205/55R16.

I finally found one store in WA that actually had the size in stock with 4 tyres.

I even had one store try and quote and include in the quote an additional charge to disposal of tyres. They didn't even have 4 tyres.

      • I had to get mine ordered in back in 2017 when buying the same tyre profile

  • exceptional handling in all conditions

    Cheap track day tyres????

    • Cheap? $175 a pop even on the smallest rim.

      • I'm kidding about their liberal use of "exceptional handling in all conditions". I'll stick to my Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's.

And yes, $175 for a tyre is cheap.

        • Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's are great performance tyres but you will be lucky to get 30,000 kms with "normal" driving. Do some mountain road or track days and that could easily drop to 20,000 kms. That's the price you pay for performance.

          • @billy_bob: In my size 215/55/17 PS4 was an excellent tyre, except the life was too short - 2 years.
The Michelin was no longer made in my size.
The new PS5 is now available in my size, but it is significantly more expensive.
I changed to B/stone Potenza 003 18 months ago and now am very happy with performance and treadwear.
To the eye, wear is minimal, with no uneven wear.
Grip/handling is right up to expectations, as is ride/noise/comfort.
I drive hard often enough to always choose a "performance" tyre.
The Potenza has not faulted once, wet or dry.
Bob Jane Nowra seem to do very good wheel alignments on my 2004 Mitsubishi Magna AWD.
Potenza was about $30 per tyre cheaper than the PS4 at the time of original purchase.

    • +1

You're much better off with part-used and about 2/3mm of tread left on them assuming a dry track.

Talk to your local tyre shop nicely and they might keep them aside for you - has worked for me in the past.

  • Yet again no 195/50/16, this is getting ridiculous.

    • Have you tried 205/45/16 ?

      • Can I do that? Will that affect the actual speed figure on the speedometer? Plus it is wider than the wheel right.

        • +3

Yes and yes, but not enough to affect anything.
          It's 10mm wider (195mm vs 205mm) and 5mm lower profile (97mm vs 92mm) - both differences are so small you won't notice.
The diameter of the tyre only changes by 1.7%.

  • +1

Can vouch for the Serenity Plus. My last set went for a good 80,000km with regular rotation and maintenance. They are fairly quiet, and grip is decent. They're no RE003 in the wet, so for my Aurion I had to be a little careful in the wet because they started getting a little skittish at around 50,000km or so. Then again, before those I had RE003s and they were good for all of 60,000km.

    • +1

Yep regular rotation is the key. A guy who works on buses told me he rotates all their bus tyres every 2500km and they now last 30-40% longer than the guy he replaced.

And yes I know… imagine doing it every 2500km!

      • +2

They've got in-house mechanics in the depot so easy enough…most tyre brands now include free rotation and balancing every 10,000km I believe (Bridgestone, Mycar and Bob Jane do, not sure about the rest)

      • Can you explain the logic here? If you rotate them say at 5,000km wouldn't it even out as well?

        • I do 5000, and wash the back of the wheels while I'm at it
          .

        • +2

A few guys were talking about how we rotate our car tyres at 5k. He then said how he started doing their buses at only 2500 because 5000 was a bit too long, that by the time they were swapped at the 5k interval, they'd already worn one area of the tyre too much, which then continued wearing unevenly even after the swap. Basically he found 2500 didn't allow uneven wear in any one position, that by moving them more often the wear area kept shifting, making wear more even, resulting in the longest tyre life they'd ever had.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Thanks for the explanation! Good to know. I'm sure it didn't take too long in a workshop to do, but gee, 2,500km I'm sure a bus does this in a week!

  • i actually want my spare tyre changed too,
so a deal with 4+1 would be awesome, but ive never seen one .

      1. Buy 3 or more to get 1 free (buy up to 5)
      2. Buy 6 or more to get 2 free (buy up to 8)
        And so on
    • Will you rotate your spare tyre with the set? Every 15k.

Then it's not really worth it

    • +2

Surely one of the 4 that are being replaced is good enough to be relegated as the 'new spare'? ie enough tread for an emergency and newer rubber than the current spare?

A spare tyre doesn't need to have full tread, just needs to get you a couple of days until you can get to the tyre shop.

    • Huh? How is 3+1 different to 4+1 lmfao?
You can literally buy 3+1 and then buy a single tyre, making this deal 4+1

  • Now all I need is 3x other people to share the cost of a group-buy of 5x sets of 4x tyres, so we can all have a spare.

  • How would it compare with the Dunlop FM800 in the other deal?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/750567

    • Apple and orange

    • +1

Serentiy Plus are better IMO. Much quieter for road noise too!

FM800 aren't bad per se, but these are better and worth the extra.

      • You havent used both, have you.

        • I have….your point?

          • @placard: Better is subjective. FM800 wear out quicker but offer better grip. Horses for courses.

      • Thanks everyone for the comments and pointers. I’ll do a bit extra research as well before pulling the trigger in either.

  • It's buy 2 and get 2 free or they're not even trying.

  • Wet grip is superb. Have them for 30k km and super happy

  • +1

Used to have them on my car (Prius) which also happened to have RE003 before them. They both lasted roughly same duration (70,000 km) before they began to lose the grip on wet. RE003, being a performance tyre, was more stable when cornering etc (serenity plus have somewhat softer side walls). Biggest difference between the two were the road noise and smoothness of the ride. Serenity plus was way quieter and feels much smoother when driving (personally love those tyres). Can't recommend them enough.

  • I bought a set of Turanza Serenities on a 4 for the price of 3 deal back in August 21 for $495, the same set now on the same deal is $597. That's a lot of inflation.

I do like the tyres though - in my subjective opinion.

  • Yikes $400 each for my size 245/40/19

  • Can confirm you can get 100k kms out of these. I do all regional highway driving and rotate every 15k kms. Great tyres.

  • Sigh. Bought these in December as needed new tyres…

  • Vouch for these. Still had miles of tread after 70,000km when I sold my car

  • My tyres are bald ASF but waiting for my car boxing day sale

    • Are you looking to get a new set of ASF tyres? Or some other brand?

  • Be super careful about your tyre specs, especially if you've had rims changed before. My experience, the bridgestone guy insisted on fitting 17" tyres on my 18" wheels because he saw the factory spec of one random trim level in one random year, and would absolutely not budge. I booked for the right specs online before going in.

    • -2

Which is more scary: that you think you know more than the Bridgestone person, or that the Bridgestone person is incompetent?

      • +2

hahahaha good one. I don't know my car as well as a random mechanic!

I seriously don't understand the people going about their lives truly believing that businesses and organisations in general can never be at fault, make mistakes, or hire anyone who does. It's always that individual that must be an idiot.

    • +1

Same happened with me at myCar and their half price promo. Wife's car is a VE 3.0 Commodore with 18" rims (previous owner upgraded when he bought the car new). myCar kept insisting the VE 3.0 Omega takes 16" tyres. Imagine their surprise when I took the car there and they were indeed 18s…

  • How many years do these last if not wearing through the tread? I have a set on a car that we’ve had for 5 years (they were fitted when we bought it) but only done 25000 km in that time. The tread looks barely worn. Do they need replacing just because of the age?

    • Yes and No. It's worth a visual inspection to see if the rubber is dry or cracked. If not, I'd be happy to leave them for now. At ten years I'd probably definitely replace regardless.

If the car has been garaged out of sunlight, more likely okay, if parked outside in the UV 24/7, then even at 5 years the rubber may have degraded even though plenty of tread left.

      • Thanks for your help. It’s always been outside. I’ll take a closer look

        • +1

Look at the year of manufacturing on the tyre. If more than 7, better replace it. Even it's only fitted for 5 years

    • If you dont know the history. Yes. Its not just uv etc. If it was ever sitting static for long periods they cna harden. If you can afford to, id change em.

  • I noticed that there is ""Ask about a wheel alignment in store." during checkout. Is this needed when replacing all four tyres?

    • Depends when it was last done…

      • +1

I would say never - first time to replace the tyres from when bought brand new in 2018, have done 58000km.

I guess that's a yes for wheel alignment then.

  • +1

    Was quoted today.

    225/40R18 92W - $837

  • Hi all, I just did the wear check with a 20 cents coin and the far end grove is right at the bill of the Platypus for the two rear tyres and the two front ones are very worn out, should I replace all the four or does it mean the rear ones still have life left in them?

  • Which places offer the cheapest price inclusive of fitting?

Would it be Costco? will Bridgestone price match with Costco as well?
