    Don't do it

You are highly unlikely to get your cashback if Shopback is relying on Econnex

Thank you. Econnex also did not honor my friends $100 Woolworths voucher when he signed up through Econnex and still using the service after 7 months. I do not recommend econnex.

Someone should notify @gotyourback so he can get this partnership/cashback offer removed.

Thanks for letting us know. OP’s username checks out!

      • yes i rudely informed people of a deal, how rude of me!

        • -2

Nothing personal, the wording just fits well with Econnex…

    • -3

As usual with cashback / gift card to Switch Deals - make sure you meet the criteria. Some are bitter when they miss out!!

Received all of my Woolies gift cards direct from Ecconex in a few Electricity Switch Deals. Happy with them.

They need to collect your details to sign you up to provider (3rd party). Without doing that, you can't switch & be eligible for the Deal!

"hey multitude of people who have had a negative experience, the company isn't shitty because I didn't experience it"

        • Seems they had 1 bad experience, I've had many good experiences!
It's what happens on OzBargain. People get very upset when they miss a good Deal😉

Some of those Negs are from same people, over & over in many Deals!

They missed out for some reason (e.g. didn't meet conditions to swap retailer like different name to that on bill, so couldn't be swapped, etc), or like Easternculture - arrived at the end of the Deal & missed out. (EC removed the unflattering discussion in the previous Deal.)

But they keep complaining & negging. Don't think they'll stop. But did they try to resolve the issue with Rep? (EC did. Each business decides when Deals close.)

But positive comments are negged. Given that, it means others with good outcomes don't comment… They happily move on.

I won't upvote this Deal, because already got a better Econnex Deal last month! (39+, only 1- vote)

Easternculture & I clicked through to that Deal on same day. Mine was processed. But Deal closed before EC attempted…
          No wonder EC is pissed!
But repeatedly negging subsequent Deals is just childish.

I had the same experience. My econnex cashback was rejected!!

  • I just checked mine and looks like my click tracked but nothing on ShopBack from late November. Can't do anything now 30 days past :(

    • I filed a missing cashback and it got tracked after about a week.

      • Tracked is one thing, approved is another.

        • Yes but better than not tracked :-)

  • Does anyone know how long you have to stay with the new supplier to get cashback?

It says claim in 100 days which is too long, going through Econnex directly you only need to stay for 30 days just pays after 90 days.

    • Deals directly with Econnex - confirm need to stay 30+d.
Generally I switch electricity retailers every 60d, & pick up the payouts every time.

      • Any particular reason you’re switching this frequently? Between which retailers?

        • For the payouts!
Make a profit on my small electricity usage.

    Beware econnex
Read my comments in previous 2 deals and other user comments
Conclusion: not trustworthy company and would not trust my info with them especially ID document info they collect on signup

    • -4

      Lol!
You seemed very happy with Econnex & wanted to sign up recently
But they closed the offer early, so you Negged & spat the dummy because you missed out!!

When I pointed out this, you removed your comments!

      • +5

I have a feeling this ozbargainer works for or is associated with ecconex in a way, just the way he /she defends them each time

Please respect my comments and reviews. If you do not wish to see my comments there is a block user button i believe 👍🏻. We are all adults here and we live in a democracy.

And i did not neg you

Edit: plus there is a reason why econnex deals do not get upvoted

        • -4

Lol! Why should I not point out your vested interest in negging? It shows a very BIASED review!!

Negative comments by others may be due to similar reasons!

As I said - I expected you would continue your Negs out of bitterness of missing out on $150 or more in that Deal😉

          • +9

            @INFIDEL: Just warning ozbargainers.
Then they are free to choose to signup or not 👍🏻

Implying an unfounded Association with the business is a serious matter on OzBargain!! It's not true!
          Referring to Mods

        • +4

Just checked out their comment history on previous econnex "bargains" and I come to the same conclusion as you. They definitely seem to be associated in some way. They try WAY too hard to defend a company that other users have had pretty negative experiences with.

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: Have never personally had a problem with Econnex & received all the promised egift cards - so honest positive reviews from me.

I've even Negged & criticised Econnex - wording of offers can be confusing.

I've definitely nothing to do with this business!! Just take up some Electricity Switch Deals.

            (Welcome relative newcomer to OzBargain!)
Claiming I am Associated in any way - is a serious matter on OzBargain. So report me as Associated if you must - it won't be accepted by the mods! Because it's untrue.

Unfortunately, some who Neg don't like a different point of view - so criticise me. Even make up false stories to discredit my comments.

I would rather people consider the real reasons behind some negs🤔

Have pointed out where others didn't understand Deal & missed out. Some complain because they couldn't find their gift cards (was in junk folder) or didn't qualify for Deal - all incorrect complaints!

Ozbargainers should take that into account when reading criticism & negs. Some may have unreasonable reasons to complain or didn't understand the offer - so missed out.

And positive comments & votes don't mean there is any Association with the business!

    AGL 4 lyf

    • Absolutely agree, my gas bill has dropped significantly and I just sign up to the 50+% discount every 12 months. Been so happy with them after some initial slow setup which was annoying but resolved

      • +1

How to get the 50% discount?

  • +6

Above comments already said what I want to say.

  • +4

Don't do it. Your data is not safe.

  • Have no issues on the rewards on previous $112 deal via Cashrewards. A couple of my mates also got on same deal no issues. Regarding the personal data being sold, are there any evidence? Seriously asking.

  • Feels dodgy AF

  • This Cashback is coming from Shopback so I am not worried. Now in regards to data leak many big companies has been already compromised. I feel like my data is already stolen leaked. So let them resell it🤣

    • The good thing is they may have you license number but they dont have the card number.

New requirement for nsw is providing both for identity check. So we should all practice due diligence when it comes to disclosing this information

So they may have some details but what is stopping them is not having your complete details

  • I had a rejection with econnex although this was via Cash Rewards.
    I would avoid econnex

  • Before you switch, please try comparing your current rates to the rates of the new company manually. I've found that the rates I am on for both gas and electricity with AGL are still better than Dodo, Alinta, etc and the other 'low cost' providers that Econnex recommends.

  • If you change utilities provider because you want to grab their promo, will this affect your credit score?

    • Most energy providers now do a credit check

Just be aware that econnex with collect your identity information on behalf of the energy company and likely store it in their database

If you are comfortable providing an offshore company these details (econnex is from india as per my research), go for it.

      https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/46868/101027/screensho…

  • I got my econnex woolworths gift vouchers but it took almost 120 days (the maximum allowed).
You have to set reminders to check your email else you'll miss them or find them in junk mail.
That might be what econnex is hoping for.
