  • is this better than/similar to Dell S2722QC?

    • Isn't that a 27" 4K monitor?

      • yeah price is almost similar so wasnt sure if I should wait for a lower price (was $360+ last year)

I think it really just depends on what you want out of a monitor. This one is a bigger panel but has lower pixel density. It's also VA which can be a deal breaker for some people because of the smearing issues that show up in VAs aside from Samsung's ultra expensive panels. This monitor also has a higher refresh rate at 165 Hz so if you're into games that's an important thing to make note of. The S2722QC is only 60 Hz which is considerably lower, though if you're just staring at text it's not as big a deal IMO. There are people who love the smoothness that comes with higher refresh rates even for web browsing though.
The S2722QC is smaller but the 4K resolution means great pixel density which some people value. The IPS panel means you avoid smearing but open yourself up to IPS glow issues and a generally lower contrast.

It's almost, but not quite, an apples to oranges comparison and you have to ask yourself what you're looking for in a monitor. If it was me I'd probably choose the S2722QC if pressed to make a decision because I really don't like VA smearing and will take IPS glow over that. But it being 60 Hz would make it a begrudging decision, I don't demand super high refresh rates that competitive gamers do but I would like a new monitor to be 120-144 Hz since that can be easily achieved in older/lower spec non-AAA games which I play a lot of.

@Diji: This is a good response to that comment. I’m serious. Where someone else might have torn csgoo a new one you were calm, controlled and just decent. I feel like I should give that a try. It’s easy sometimes just to be a nob-end, but this is definitely better.

@csgoo: You're welcome! Good luck deciding on a monitor.

I have the LG 32GN600-B (same shit with a worse stand) never seen a VA so blurry in my life. Avoid.

    • Same. I'm returning mine.

Avoid VA monitors like the plague.

    • I've had great VA's, Ghosty VAs and IPS displays with crazy glow/bleed. QD-OLED in a size I want can't come sooner.

I'm still very wary of using OLED for a monitor both because the burn-in potential is way higher (way more screen on time than my TV) and the subpixel layout that Windows/ClearType is still ill-equipped for. The TV makes me jealous because it would be really nice for games but I do too much text-staring and other relatively static things to be comfortable spending what is being asked for the upcoming 27" OLEDs. Now if we were talking this price for an OLED, I think I could stomach it lol.

  • do we have a 4k deal in this Size ?
