I've just purchased the below in preparation for the Olympics… It may be of help to some of you too!
Well reviewed 'entry level' home cinema projector. Next best price on Staticice is $1848.84 (excluding delivery) yes, carton damaged but not really an issue imho.
From what I've heard from 'video/moviephile' mates, you can't go wrong quality wise at this sort of price

From the reviews, this looks like a kick-ass projector, except for the 3D (which appears to be substandard). Here's one of several reviews that is very positive about this projector,

The price looks good. The UK list price is about 950 pounds, Amazon UK is about 900 pounds. Both of these prices are comparable, except you'd need to pay for shipping and wouldn't have warranty in Aus for a UK import. Hence, I'd call this a bargain.
FWIW, I bought myself a casio XJ-A240 a few years ago because I don't have to worry about lamp life (IIRC the Casio is rated for about 20,000 hours v/s the usual 4,000 hours of most projectors). The bulb (and standard high price) is the only drawback I can see with the Epson EH-TW5900.
