UPDATE: Back in stock as at 14 Jan

Lowest all time price via Amazon according to the Camels and seems to be at least $20 anywhere else. Decent price, especially for the hardcover edition.

Edit: As per Shads, Amazon are price matching Kmart so that's another option if you can find local stock and would prefer to purchase in-store or via C&C.

So, I’ve written a book.

Having entertained the idea for years, and even offered a few questionable opportunities (‘It’s a piece of cake! Just do four hours of interviews, find someone else to write it, put your face on the cover, and voila!’), I have decided to write these stories just as I have always done, in my own hand. The joy that I have felt from chronicling these tales is not unlike listening back to a song that I’ve recorded and can’t wait to share with the world, or reading a primitive journal entry from a stained notebook, or even hearing my voice bounce between the Kiss posters on my wall as a child.

This certainly doesn’t mean that I’m quitting my day job, but it does give me a place to shed a little light on what it’s like to be a kid from Springfield, Virginia, walking through life while living out the crazy dreams I had as young musician. From hitting the road with Scream at 18 years old, to my time in Nirvana and the Foo Fighters, jamming with Iggy Pop or playing at the Academy Awards or dancing with AC/DC and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, drumming for Tom Petty or meeting Sir Paul McCartney at Royal Albert Hall, bedtime stories with Joan Jett or a chance meeting with Little Richard, to flying halfway around the world for one epic night with my daughters…the list goes on. I look forward to focusing the lens through which I see these memories a little sharper for you with much excitement.

Price matching Kmart who have it on clearance if you can find it at a store near you.

    • Cheers, updated the post.

  • I have the audiobook that i downloaded, which i still haven't gotten to, but this price is pretty good. Bought.

  • I can't recall a book in recent times more advertised than this…. Even in stores not known for books.

The advertising budget must have been immense.

    This is a great book.

  • Check QBD Books as well. They had signed copies for $35 not that long ago. Online and in store.

Trying to buy it, says $12. Add to cart and changes to 28.99

    • Yep back up to 28.99 now.

      • You could try Kmart if stock (or a store) is available nearby?

Great price - but just checked my local library & now it is waiting for me to pick up! Think it will be a great read, but not a re-read. Upvote for a good deal & for reminding me about the book though.

I saw it reduced not long after launch everywhere I saw it…the foo fighters was and is always the one man band with hired guns, and I am still shocked Taylor Hawkins, who complained of excessive workload prior to his death, was honored with two mammoth concerts. Blows the mind. Haven’t read the book and can’t be bothered. Storyteller is an interesting title when the songs haven’t changed much since the 2000s

This is a really really good book. I recommend the audiobook version, which is of course done by Dave himself which adds to the storytelling vibe.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who can't stand Dave Grohl, or the shit excuse for music TFF make.

      Username checks out ;-)

    • It's very middle of the road music.

    • Don't mind the first two LPs but I agree, it's Nickelback without the hate.

  • Chapter One - Took A Lot Of Drugs
Chapter Two - Started A New Band Which Became The New Nickelback
Chapter Three - I'm Rich Biatch!
