Unsure how good it is as I haven't got one but I think it is the cheapest it's been and heaps cheaper than the closest competitor.

    • Does anyone have this? Does it actually do a good job of cleaning windows?

      • its good to remove streaks. Also removing water from tiled/wooden floors. I keep mine in the bathroom and vacuum up the water every now and then from the glass

      • It does. Very good, when its working.

It also ceases up if you don't use it for ages (I.e. fully charged, and flashing green light). Need a zip tie to poke around inside it to loosen the wheel. Plenty of you tube videos on it.

Actually returned the first one to bunnings as we thought it was faulty, when the replacement did this discovered its has to be an inherent design flaw.

Must be a lot of these thrown away thinking they are broken…

    • Thanks, bought it 🙌🏼

Tempting, but the sodastream website says:

it features the new Quick Connect technology (pink cylinder) for fast and easy CO2 cylinder insertion.

Makes me think it has deliberately been made to be incompatible with cheaper refill cylinders like the soda king ones from spotlight

I wouldn't use the sodastream or soda king refill bottles. They are both expensive.

Instead get a 6kg Kegland tank and FreedomOne Sodastream Adapter Hose. You will save a hell of a lot in the long-run. Last time I had to refill was in 2020 - on average I make 2 sodastream bottles per day.

      • +1

Does that work with the Sodastream Terra? I'm interested in that method

        • A very quick glance online you may need an adaptor. Try giving a call to Kegland

6kg Kegland tank … Last time I had to refill was in 2020 - on average I make 2 sodastream bottles per day.

Never fear, Captain Fact Check is here!

        1 sodastream bottle = 1L
        1 standard CO2 refill contains 400g usable CO2
1 standard refill rated for 60L

        Therefore 1 refill uses 400 / 60 = 6.67 grams CO2 per 1L refill.

        6kg divided by 6.67g = 900 bottles (900L) of carbonated drink

Using twice a day should last you 450 days = 1 year, 12 weeks and 2 days.

        450 days ago = 14th October, 2021. Conclusion: Busted

        Disclaimer
        - some sites claim 425g not 400g per refill, may last up to 478 days / mid September 2021.
        - however, unlikely to practically get a full 6kg of use due to pressure loss.

        • Using twice a day should last you 450 days = 1 year, 12 weeks and 2 days.

          450 days ago = 14th October, 2021. Conclusion: Busted

Except I use 500ml sodastream bottles, yes valid point I should have mentioned this.

From Tuesday, 1 December 2020 added 2 years, equals 24 weeks, 4 days (or 2 years, 172 days)

So I am looking at May 2023 as my next refill month based on your earlier calculations. Thanks for the heads-up

    • You are right, the new Quick Connect cylinders are not compatible with Soda King cylinders. The older models that are still on sale have compatible screw-in gas cylinders: Jet (from Kmart), Spirit (Woolworths, Aldi, Coles).

  • Tried to price match the Karcher at Bunnings and JB Hi Fi.
Bunnings said they wont price match unless it's shipped from the same state.
JB Hi Fi wont price match it because it's sold through Ebay. I ended up buying through Ebay. Anoyone else have success?
