I would just get a Wuben C3 for $30. Unless the nitecore is really worth the extra $70 dollarydoos?

  • Wrong link for the headlamp

  • Nitecore OOS

  • Only 1k lumens for this price ?
    Seems expensive af

    • At least it hold 1000 lumens for however long the battery lasts. A lot of cheaper torches like Wuben c3 only holds max lumens for 1-2 munutes before it starts stepping down.

      • no. Down to about 53% by 20mins - that is better than many others due to it's lower performance. Like all other lights that have a turbo mode it starts dropping right away. It's only 1000 lumens because it is an old model - 6 years old. LED technology has gone through the roof in that time.

        • Where did you find that? The spec says 1000 lumens for 1 hour.

          • @8azinga: all lights show specs the same way - I'm surprised you don't know this. You hit turbo and leave it there, but the light drops significantly to stop overheating. It's usually medium (turbo, high, med etc etc) on most lights that can maintain said lumens until power runs low. https://www.lumenreviews.com/en/Reviews/nitecore-mh27/

            • @poohduck: Wuben specs show stepping down after 1 minute so not all lights are spec'd the same. Why would i know, im not a torch fanatic?

              • @8azinga: Yes, it seems so. Wuben is common for current high performance torches - generally 1 - 3 minutes. Turbo is kind of a defense mode. You seemed to understand this for wuben but then assumed the opposite for nitecore. If you go back 6 years that model nitecore would be in the ball park of lights, but not by today's standards. For example, most of today's budget enthusiast lights would easily outperform that on just medium and they would run for at least an hour (without dropping lumens) with an 18650 battery (both mine do - sofirn). My two new sofirn lights combined cost less than that nitecore, they get great reviews, a much better ui and performance.

                • @poohduck: I went off the specs. Wuben says it steps down, Nitecore doesnt mention any stepping down so i assumed what it says on the specs. Not sure what you mean by "assumed opposite."

                  • @8azinga: that pretty much sums up my thoughts on nitecore

That wuben actually get good reviews by light enthusiasts - the wuben is much more bang for buck; it is a flooder though. Despite it's small distance (relatively speaking) the nitecore is a thrower.

  • I've had a nitecore hc30 for almost 6 years now. Got it for a mega bargain for 50 bucks and it's still working 100%. Use it for work and camping.

From my experience nitecore is great quality. In saying that, I have no experience or knowledge about torches other than I've had an olight seeker 2 and it's as good if not better quality.

Keep an eye out for sofirn deals. There's a Facebook group where codes are often posted. I've bought multiple high power torches, lamps and headlights and keep being impressed by the quality.
