  • I'd be a bit cautious on this one, Title clearly says 4AA batteries, then below it says 2 packs of 4AA. (as pointed out by OP)

Specs and Overview tabs only state 4 batteries total.

There is also a link showing they normally sell for $21.99 per pack.

    • +2

That's how it appears every time they're on special. The regular price for one pack is $21.99, on special they do two for $19.99.

    • Its a bundle and it says you get 2 x 4AA. If you didnt recieve that you could get a refund easily for anything misleading but i think this is definitely a bundle.

      • +1

This has happened where a few people only got one, they contacted whomever it was they needed to and another pack was sent out promptly.

        • +1

Well handled if that was the case :)

How the hell can batteries be environmentally friendly? Surely it's not because they donate 5c per battery to Clean Up Australia?

    • +10

      By being reChargable.

      • +1

I guess I was thinking more about their disposal but I guess you're right, they get disposed of but a lot less often than alkalines or other one-use types.

      • +1

Eneloop also precharge all their batteries with solar electricity and they are low discharge so you dont have to charge them again if they've been sitting around for awhile.

Come on DSE do a deal on the AAA 4 packs.

Just get some Turnigy LSD 900mAh AAA's from Hobbyking:

      http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__25024__Turnigy_AA…

10 batteries is all you'll get into a $5.99 International Registered Air Mail satchel for a total cost of $15.89USD delivered.

15 in a 300g $6.99 bag for a total of $21.84USD delivered - even better if you have a use for that many. Split the cost with a rellie or mate or something but make sure they have their own charger :)

If the AAA Eneloops did ever come on special, it's unlikely they'd be less than that.

      • The last batch I ordered from hobbyking would only allow me to choose the $9.95 shipping option regardless of whether I ordered 1 or 27 AAA's…a random number I presumed to be a function of the weight! I grabbed the 27 of course, so I'm pretty well sorted for AAA's ATM! :)

I'm pretty happy with the performance, they're only in fairly low drain things like remotes & a few in torches; but they're powering on, pun intended! They will take a while to arrive though, at least a month nowadays! ;)

  • I have been after these for a while now, thanks for the post.
So is it normal for it say "1 x Eneloop 4AA Ready NiMH Battery Rechargeable 1500 cycles LSD * $19.99 "
    in the order summary section??

As you mentioned above, I'm guessing it just says 1x but comes as 2x packets.

Many people have ordered at this price, even the same URL, and gotten the two they were expecting.

When they aren't on this sepcial, the URL won't work.

  • -3

Its obviously an error. This is the correct listing
    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/S4414WEBB/eneloop-4aa-ready-…

    • +1

They do this price quite often and always have more expensive options such as the one you've linked. It's the same product code as previous deals, same price, even the same URL. Once they're off special, the URL will no longer work.

    • $43.98???

  • Thanks mate, bought.

  • Order is placed. Sweet~

  • thanks, finally got around to start my collection of rechargebles. so ordered 2 of 2 packs of 4.

  • Ahh sorry guys, the wording is just too crazy and I HAVE to ask…

am I getting 4 batteries in total or 8?

    • +1

Boss, you should get 8, you might get 4, if you do just send them a e-mail to get the rest

      • Thank you Tal_Shiar! :) I will do that!

    • +1

Confusing yes, but did you read any of the posts before asking?

      • -2

Yes, I did read the posts. However I was still confused hence my post - and hence the "sorry".

        • +1

Are you sure..? Cos i can see 4 replies from Foobar clearly saying you will get two packs….?

  • +1

Is this really such a good deal? I've got 8x AA eneloops from dick smith before for $19.99 with free postage.

    • +2

Yes this is a good deal. But you previously got an even better deal (which is not currently on offer).

  • Just ordered… thanks

  • So I presume these are the chargers that are needed:

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/S4403/standard-charger-with-…
    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/S4462/eneloop-quick-charger-…

Do they ever go on sale? Or should I just order one set together with this deal?

    • I'm not sure but if you decide to buy one I would get the quick charger.
Its a smart charger and you don't have to quick charge the batteries, just charge them in pairs which will charge them at the normal rate.

Charging batteries quickly can hurt them.

  • Has anyone ever managed to get this deal in-store asking them to price-match online?

    • you could try but chances are they just refuse & think you're asking so much from them!

  • Are these one of the best rechargeable values? I need a couple. What is a suitable or suggested battery charger to go with it?

  • Think I have found you guys a better deal, give me a second.

  • How do these compare with Energizer rechargeables?

I have the Energizers, their life drops dramatically after about 10 charges.

    • These are meant to last in till 1000 charges or the newer ones to 1500.

I got a pair I always use. Been charged about 10-15 times.

I dropped them hard on the concrete ground and I think that may have hurt them a bit, other than that they work great..

    • I've had the same disappointing experience with Energizers - I don't know whether it's just me or my charger. There are reviews on the web covering Eneloops vs other brands. eg. In flashguns: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=677074; and in microphones: http://www.churchtecharts.org/home/2010/3/9/battery-shootout…

    • I had the Energizers too and they are rubbish. They started failing after 25-30 charges even with a quality charger from jaycar. Since the eneloops, charges last longer and last for the same length. Wasted time and money with the Energizers.

      • Yes, Energisers are rubbish. I was away at one time and had forgotten to take batteries and charger with me, so I picked up an energiser charger and batteries. They've long since died, whereas Enenoops that we've had for much longer are still alive and kicking.

        • Energizers are garbage, Eneloops or Imedions are the go :)

    • You can revoke your neg yourself, even though it's an obvious error

  • +4

I'm holding out for the glitter pack…:)

    • +1 me too :D

    • I am still using the last glitter pack

    • I just checked and they are also $19.99 for the 8 pack ($4.95 delivery).

  • Excellent! I bought 5 pairs of 4 packs last time the deal was on and was just recently running short of batteries.

  • +1

I'll wait for them to do free postage again

  • Great, got the packs today. thanks op

  • Just received them today, thanks OP.
