If you have access to TGG Commercial you can find it there for $138 with free pick up at your local TGG. Also, I've created amateur video why you may consider Bissell Stain Eraser Turbo even if you have already a carpet cleaner. The video of why you may want one is here: https://youtu.be/hlXkMLLXaHA and first use is here: https://youtu.be/i8RbHgLh9zQ, hope you find it helpful.

That is one cute little doggo šŸ„¹

She's beyond cute, but a bit naughty. Did not want to participate in filming of why we need a stain eraser. She is still a little puppy and the very reason why we got the gizmo :-).

Haha this is exactly what my parents would have needed! Great video

@lachhelix: Thank you so much for all kind words!

            • +1

@Kapitoshka: What kind of carpet is that? Looks quite flat compared to even my low pile carpet. I wonder if this unit works great on flat carpets, but as soon as there's pile, it struggles?

              • +1

@y2k: I'm not really pro in carpets, but it is the standard one that was installed in my unit since new. So, my assumption it is cheap and nasty :-) I don't find this unit to work particularly well anywhere beyond the small stain. For that you might need a proper carpet cleaner. However, I found it does a OK job on carpet or upholstery stains. Sorry if it is not helpful…

Thanks for the video, might I suggest you use a headset mic at least next time. Had volume on max and was still quite unclear..

      • +1

Thanks, a couple of people noted that. I'm filming using Sennheiser momentum 3. The moment they report as connected I assumed that would include the mic. When I discovered that it wasn't true I was pretty upset. Could not bring myself to re-recording. Thank you again!

  • FYI, this is the portable cordless version.

Iā€™m assuming it has less suction power than the corded turbo versions.

    • How do we find the corded turbo version?
Never mind, I thought you were saying there is a Stain Eraser corded.

Assume you are talking about the SpotClean range. Obviously they will have more suction power!

  • How is this one compared to the new model of Bissell stain eraser pet?

  • +1

Before you buy ANY wet vac, be sure to test it in-store and also compare it to a shop Vac.

You will quickly notice most of these two-in-one options have terrible suction!!

Dont take my word for it, try for yourself.

Not going to Neg because product is Meh, not also not going to upvote too.

    • It's all about convenience. Most guys will have a wet/dry vac in the garage or workshop. Do you really think the missus will go and get it, wet the carpet, scrub it, switch the vac from dry to wet filter, find the nozzle and then plug it in (after putting on earplugs for the noise)? Probably not.

      • +1

True, comfort over convenience that you pay a premium for.

      • Other than the faff, how good is the average wet/dry vac for vacuuming stains (that you've worked over with a brush and detergent, of course)?

Most wet/dry vacs I've looked at don't have a specific carpet attachment so do they have a decent enough seal so that their stronger suction makes them a better option than say, the Bissell carpet cleaners (which have stronger suction than this cordless version)?

      • I actually feel a bit triggered here. 'Most guys' will have a wet/dry vac in the garage.. I don't have a wet/dry vac.. in the garage or house… and I feel offended that you assumed I did.

    • +2

This isn't a wet vac though, it's specifically for carpet cleaning.

A wet vac is not a carpet cleaner, it's for vacuuming up spills and the like.

      • What your saying is semantics for the most part.

It's labelled as a upholstery cleaner and says in the description..

"The powerful rotating DirtLifter PowerBrush and powerful suction deliver formula deep into the carpet fibres to loosen, lift and remove spots & stains."

        And

"Spray, scrub and suction to remove spots and stains."

Thus it sucks up wet cleaning formula.

        Lastly..

Product photos show it spraying cleaning agent.

        https://bissell.com.au/products/stain-eraser-turbo-2982f

Ergo, a wet vac but as you say.. not a Vacuum per say because its not full scale.

    • You convinced me to get one of these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/314216353847 instead.
Will give it a crack with the ozito wet/dry 20L before I become a Bissell sucker!

      • šŸ‘Œ nice!!

Super keen to see how you find it.

Any recommendations on units specifically for couches where the cat mistakes it for a litter box?

  • +1

I looked at the thumbnail and it thought it was something you got in and drove, like a Street sweeper

  • Perfect match for all those recent white men's underwear deals.

  • The old version of this had great reviews for cleaning random spills on carpet or in the car e.g. kids/pets mess, walked in doggy doo etc. Hopefully this one works as well

  • Anyone know how these go with kids' vomit?

    • +2

I own this model and owned version 1 (without spinning brush). I think version 1 was better for suction but developed a leak which is a common defect.

We clean up both kids and dogs various accidents and it does this well, but does take carpet a day to dry out even with a decent time vacuuming the wet area.

PS: the oxyboost is worth adding for stubborn stains.

      • Yes, I've bought the Oxyboost. Haven't given it a go yet. Do you recommend it for old stains, or do you mean more recent stains that are stubborn?

        • It has helped in both cases for us, you don't need a lot, just a few drops per tank and give it a day to see the results

The full sized Bissell products are terrible already. I'm scared to imagine how much worse this is
