the MPN: BBC710ECUXBC1 is the model number of the previous 11th Gen intel laptop
EAN 0735858475518 is also the previous gen. Going by the price I'd say this is most likely not Alder Lake 12th gen.

edit: Some users called and can confirm EAN and MPN incorrect, this would be a 12th gen alderlake. It is most likely this SKU with a 1TB SSD, but this is not written anywhere on the eBay listing.

    • +3

The title and description are BRC710, the item specifics are BBC710. I'd actually also assume a listing error and except to receive a 11th gen product.

      • -7

        BBC…. O.O

        • Big Black Computer (keyboard)

        • -1

          … 710

    • I guess if it's not as described he can return it so it's not entirely a loss

    • +1

I know. I have messaged to confirm the spec. I will update once the reply.

  • +2

Code doesn’t work, but I will wait till it’s below 1k

    • Sorry for that. It worked perfectly for me. Try PLUSJAN1 for slightly less discount and see if that works. I dont think imthese will go below 1k anytime soon.

      • Try PLUSJAN1 for slightly less discount

PLUSJAN1 only takes $60 off. Better than nothing but kills the deal imo

  • +1

Could be correct as it is the same $1199 starting price on their website

Although I can see a slight difference in the link bd1 vs bc1 on ebay

  • think there is a cashback by buying via Bing Lee

    • Youre buying from ebay

      • Should still get a Bing Lee invoice

        • Whos your cashback from? Does code affect tracking?

  • +3

I thought NUCs were small form factor PCs.. not laptops. When did this change?

  • Interestingly if you open it on eBay app the model no. is showing as BRC710ECUXBD1 which is the 1260P version, hmmm

  • -6

Fantastic, bought this or $1,295 from Shopping Express just a week ago. Unethical question; does anyone know if I can buy from bing lee and return that laptop to Shopping Express or do they track serial numbers?

    • +5

Every store will track serial numbers of something like a laptop my man… The idea of not doing so is absurd. They'd be unable to process warranties properly.

      • Makes sense, thanks

    • +3

I'd say you run a pretty big risk of it blowing up in your face, owning two laptops and having to pay shipping both ways to get it to and from Shopping Express. It's not worth it for the modest gain.

    • +1

I bought it from shopping express too but have not recived it yet. Will like to return too if this one is the same. Hopefully they will provide a full refund. It nice to see we think alike .

      • I imagine returning and refunding won't be an issue. I'm kicking myself for saving the 1% and paying by bank transfer instead of paying by 28 degrees and having price protection from drops in prices. Going to see if I can get them to let me pay by credit card for a product I already have :/

  • +4

Folks - I spoke to Bing Lee CS on the phone just now and they confirmed the eBay store details are an error in the listing. It's 12th Gen. Happy days! School laptop for my son now sorted.

    • One other thing - and I didn't confirm this on the call, but - the CS rep said the product was the same as that listed on the Bing Lee website, which shows a 1TB HD. If that's the case then if I'm not wrong, this is a bit of steal? Crossing fingers!

      • +3

And I've just gotten confirmation from the eBay store rep as well. Also confirmed it does indeed come with 1Tb HDD:

        • Ebay model no is: BRC710ECU & binglee wesbite model number is BRC710ECUXBD1. Looks like both are different. Are u sure binglee confirmed its 1TB in ebay?

            • @HomeAlone: You are right, but if u see the description u can see the MPN: is BBC710ECUXBC1 for same listing. so its very much confusing unless someone received the product

              • @Krishna1990:

if u see the description u can see the MPN: is BBC710ECUXBC1 for same listing.

Wrong product chosen from eBay product library. This is what caused the confusion initially.

so its very much confusing unless someone received the product

Your concerns have already been addressed in the comment posted above. (the one you initially replied to)

                • @HomeAlone: Hi, I have received new laptop from binglee but the light bar & alexa are not working.Anyone facing the issue? I have tried installing the new alexa app & also downloaded the intel nuc software to check the light bar but its not working.

  • Thanks, bought…needed a throwaround.

  • Anyone have experience with these and have comparison to say, the surface, xps or thinkpad?

Specs look similar however the price is half so I'm assuming poor build quality?

    • +5

Runs super hot. Not doing anything crazy. Hot af. Luckily I use it like a desktop on table so fine with me. Keyboard meh. Screen wow. Speaker okay. Battery meh.

      • How’s the battery life on i7 1260p? Will it last 8 hours plus for office work? Please share your thoughts?

        • I'm looking at my Intel NUC M15 i7-1260p at the moment and the battery is at 85% which it estimates to be 5hrs 50 mins. That said, I don't reckon it'll last that long but you might get a total 5-6 hours with just office work.

          • @saj72: Thanks for the update. Battery life is quite poor I guess on this model.

            • @buddysayshi: 12th gen i7 is very power hungry processor. If battery life is your priority, I'd advise you go with Ryzen. They're much more efficient and great battery life.

    • seconding what @sagrgar said, fan goes crazy for nothing and runs very hot. Seems to be a common issue and the solution for the fans is to turn off Turbo Boost in the BIOS (F2 when starting up the laptop to get to this menu, then Advanced I think).

That said, love the laptop, build quality is great and no issues handling day to day usage. Can handle games as well.

I have a surface 4 for work and I like my Intel way more, just for my personal opinion that while the surface 4 is reliable and a good machine, it's unexciting. Have a friend who also had like 3 or 4 Surface Pros for work and they kept developing issues that required replacement. That said, don't have any issues with my surface.

      • Yep I've had a look around on this as well, and others have said the same thing - fan ramp up is too aggressive for certain power management modes. I was originally planning on getting i5 model, so I'm happy to take a hit on performance for better battery life and lower heat for mobile use. Will just bump it back up again when more power is needed! This review, which admittedly is on an older CPU but illustrates the point, claimed pretty decent battery life with the right settings: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Schenker-Vision-15-Intel-NUC-M…

        • -1
          • @Safoan: Interesting! Hopefully with a little bit of tweaking, I can get the same benefits in the NUC. We shall see!

            • @Aikendrum: Hopefully, keep us updated what tweaking worked for you so we can do the same . Still waiting for my one. I was also interested to know if intel keeps the chassis same for nuc laptop dose it mean someone with the 11th gen can upgrade to a 12th gen just by swaping the motherboard including cpu and ram as they are all soldered in. Or we can upgrade to 13th or 14th gen when they come out.

              • @Safoan: So I haven't done any bios fiddling yet, but ran a battery life test today with:

                • YouTube Earth flyaround video playing
                • Screen Brightness 30%
                • Battery saver turned on
                • Screen and PC set to never turn off

I stopped playback at about 7h45, and there was 19% battery life left. I'm pretty happy with that. Should do fine for school and have some grunt for desktop usage when plugged in. The screen is very nice indeed!

                • @Aikendrum: Oh also, I never heard the fans wind up. They were running, just very quiet. And it never got hot.

      • Ahh, I remember reading a comment on a previous deal that the i5-12 out performs the i7, maybe the overheating/ throttling is the cause of that.

      • It can handle games well? What am I missing here; is there a discreet GPU not listed?

Without one and a 1080p screen, it seems "reasonably priced", I guess but would you say a bargain?

        • +2

It has integrated graphics, so it's "reasonably priced", certainly not a steal as some have said. This is the normal price.

      • Did you turn off turn Boost? The laptop is hot with fans on, how would it be without the fans going crazy like that??

        • From what Intel says about Turbo Boost, I think turning it off may mean the CPU runs at a lower clock rate and as a result gets less hot, but I don't really understand it

    Just a warning
This laptop has had a fault once and I spoke to BingLee
They said to call the supplier
Then supplier gave me no technical support instead asked me to send it in along with details of purchase
Which could have taken a week or two for all this to be analysed and tested then the outcome
I thought I ring back Bing Lee and ask them for a replacement
She said we have to see the laptop and then the outcome
    I said ok
She goes you have to send it in on my expense
I said why this should be under warranty
    Nope
So I used my technical side and safe started the lappy then a full reset did the job
I’m still getting weird glitches here and there though then disappears
So what I’m saying is their customer service is not good
The first time I called they didn’t even know what to do other then handball the problem

    • +1

For what it's worth, Intel (manufacturer) were incredibly helpful when I had a faulty NUC i5 recently. They couldn't close the support request without a resolution, so were very patient with me taking the time to troubleshoot an intermittent issue. In the end I got a replacement shipped via DHL which turned up in days.

Very impressed start to finish with Intel's support. If you are getting glitches, I'd just go straight to them and suck up the few days without a laptop. They didn't need to assess it on their end, just make sure I had run enough troubleshooting for the issue.

    • +3

Under the Australian consumer law, businesses aren't allowed to fob you off like this. It's not legal for them to do so. Write a complaint letter stating the issue and the resolution you want, the ACCC site can help with that.

  • How is the screen? Tossing up between this and one and a Yoga 2-1 worth twice the price. Obviously it won't have yoga 2.8K OLED quality, but at half the price it might be hard to say no to it.

    • +1

its 1080p, honestly that’s the dealbreaker for me so i’ll probably get the 2.8k yoga

  • Guessing this GPU performance is nowhere near that of the RTX3060 that the older version M15 (Kraken) featured? Seems a bit of a backward step if so.

    • This is a different laptop, the non gaming nuc version that is a slim light laptop, but yes in terms of price you would've got way more for the x15 3060.

      • I think I read that Intel are ditching the nvidia gpu in preference for their own onboard graphics rather than discrete.

  • Good first year high school laptop I’m assuming. Bought one. Code didn’t work, I used the plusjan one

  • Is it just me, but I loaded my HP i5 and it felt slow? I mean opening task manager felt slow?

I'm coming from a decade old i7 Samsung Ultrabook which still felt fast.

Is the latest windows just like that?

30% ram being used by standard software, is that normal? Just seems odd.

    • When it comes to laptops, you cannot understate the importance of thermal design. It doesn't matter how good the CPU is; if the internals are bad, it will perform like crap.
I learned this the hard way with a cheap HP laptop back in 2015. Within just 3-4 months of minimal use, it was practically unusable.

    • My desktop has 64gig ram and at idle it uses 16 with hardly anything open

      • God dam

  • -1

I recently bought the i5-1240P version of this laptop with the ShoppingExpress $999 + postage deal.

Sort of kicking myself for not waiting, but at least I should have better temps.

    • -1

I got the i5 HP deal, but cost me $750.

This is solid for $1080, but it's 30% more than I paid.

It would of been worth it for you.

      https://nanoreview.net/en/cpu-compare/intel-core-i7-1260p-vs…

It's not a huge difference in performance

    • -1
      • -1

        Yeah, exactly.

        Is the i7 better? Yes.
Is it 30% better, no? I paid 30% less for my i5.

I paid $750, so if I am paying $1070….I expect it to be better aka 30% better.

I like this laptop tho, I think it's worth the money and the screen is the same as my old laptop. After seeing the 14", i realise the extra screen size is good if you use it at home as a work station rather than portable.

  • Would this be suitable for content creation (premier pro) or would it not handle it too well?

  • its the 11th gen which i got for 1030 dollars 2 months ago.. ive used it 2wice lol

    • -1

Its 12th gen confirmed by seller

    • Selling?

  • Does anyone know the screen spec? Especially the colour and refresh rate. I am buying the Xiaomi book Pro 15 ryzen 7 5800h 16g 512, oled $1250

  • For anyone purchasing from the eBay store, make sure you click on the "Pay only AU $1,079.00. Show me how" link to get the correct promo code!

  • I got my NUC M15 in the mail today from a different ShoppingExpress deal, and I just have one warning for all of you:

Make sure whoever is selling you one is packaging in the Australian Power Adapter.

ShoppingExpress, being the spanners that they are, sent me the laptop as is, and it came only with an american plug. Upon checking the store page again, it turns out they were also offering a "C5 Power Cable 1M AU PLUG" as a "freebie", which I somehow must have missed, but instead of just including it by default with every order, I was expected to manually include it in the cart.

    • mwave does the same for this SKU

    • Just got mine 30 min ago from Shopping Express as well (who delivers at 9pm?) and same thought about plug

  • +2

Oh come on, swap the touch screen for a rtx3060 !

  • +1

    Click & Collect only now.

    • Shipping is back!

  • +1

"Doesn't Post to you" WTF?! item is in Australia but doesn't post to an Australian Town?!

    • I live regional ish and I get that shit all the time

      • Yeah, we get shafted and should shaft these bustards back

  • I wish intel evo didn't have soldered ram

  • Collected mine today. Nice laptop but wow, windows 11 is a steaming turd! Anybody planning to try W10? No W10 drivers on the Intel website but it might be worth trying the W11 drivers.

    • What have you noticed re: heating and fan noise so far?

  • C&C only now…

    What I did yesterday!!!!🤬

  • +2

I bought mine on the 1st on January at Bing Lee Store. Be careful guys this model suffers from overheating. No matter updates and Bios update. Nothing will fix it. My one is back at the store at the moment as they said they will need Intel to asses it! I don't understand their policies…… But I'm very keen to see the Intel answer……

    • The Intel answers is that it is within manufacturer specifications

      • Then I want to heat from intel that a laptop on IDLE has to be at 50/55 degrees. I want to hear it. Soon after I'll go straight to the ACC……

        • Seems pretty normal imo, it's a compact chassis
