Best Bluetooth Headphones for Call to Replace Bose 700

Hi OzBargainers,

I have returned my faulty Bose 700 headphones, and now am looking for a replacement. May I get some recommendations?

After almost 2 months of usage, I found that:

I had used it for calls/meetings only (I didn't listen to music using headphones, and having ANC headphones with good sound quality like that Bose 700 hasn't changed my habit)
There were no complaints about the mic during my meetings, while I got a lot of complaints before having that Bose 700.
Some issues I got with the Bose 700: (1) not feeling comfortable when the headphones were turned on - got inner ear pain after about 10-15 minutes, (2 - minor) muting/unmuting the mic during calls using the physical button cause interruptions of about 5 seconds

May I have some recommendations?

Do you need a pair of headphones with a good mic? Why not just a standalone mic itself? eg. a Blue Snowball or something similar should be more than enough

  Thanks. I need to use with my phone as well, about 30% of the time. Is a standalone mic be connected to the devices directly or it connects to the headphones?

  Edited: that Snowball doesn't work for me. I spend a lot of time in meeting on trains with my laptop.

I got a cheap pair of Taotronics on eBay and microphone works great for meetings on zoom, teams and FaceTime. Hope this helps.
