Fork one of the easy to use restaurants apps. And they often have discounts.

  • Cant stack with redemption anymore?

    • +1

Yea looks like they fixed that loophole

      • Sorry, you can't enter a promo code while spending your Yums.

  • +1

Be careful with bookings and dining in. Sometimes the owners like to impose their own measures to make you spend more. Also speaking from experience most places are mid for this sort of promotion

Happened to me a fortnight ago on a Friday. There is no deadline for how long I could occupy the table according to any of the T&C's offered by The Fork; an hour after I first sat down was when my group finally ordered, so one of the co-owners or proprietors came over and told me that he couldn't really honour the discount anymore because I've been there for a while, well past my booking timeslot (and presumably taking up a table for other full bill paying customers), but he's willing to "meet me halfway" and told me I could have 15% instead of the 30% I booked for. I begrudgingly agreed to it. The venue never ended up having a full house by the time I left just before 9pm, and he admitted that there had been a few booking cancellations. Food was above average but pricing was overall on the higher end for what we actually got. Most of all, the sketchy self-imposed measures was what turned me off from ever returning again.

Anyway, EatClub has a better system imo because you pay through a digital wallet. The venue always gets paid for the bill they are charging, but EatClub through the digital wallet covers the difference in the stipulated discount value, so the staff may not even realize that your meal is technically discounted (and treat you differently as a result).

an hour after I first sat down was when my group finally ordered,

Thats a bit too long i think

EatClub usually has a two hour limit that you must pay the bill by for the discount to be honoured, from the time of your booking.

I hate these guys now. I signed up in order to make a booking at a local restaurant for 3 people, and I used a welcome code to earn some bonus "yums". We had a fourth person want to join us, and I couldn't for the life of me find a way to modify the number of people in the booking so I cancelled it and rebooked for 4 people (lost the bonus yums in the process). We went and had an enjoyable dinner and spent quite a bit between us.

A week later I got an email saying my account was suspended, with some vague comment about "breaching the T&Cs", and the only reference I could find was something about fraud or misuse. When I enquired, I got a reply saying "you contacted customer support, but this was done by another department. Case closed." Tried again, got another generic answer about the T&Cs, no resolution.

So I'm sure they don't care but they've permanently lost me as a customer, and I'm now going to tell anybody that will listen about their terrible customer service and arbitrary, opaque policies.

I'm not sure exactly in your case, but whenever I've had to change numbers, I cancel and rebook but usually the same promo code can be used like normal. As in it registered the booking it was asscoiated was cancelled and goes back to being as if it hasn't been used.

I will agree there customer service is horrible and unreachable most of the time

if just minor changes, fork agent told me to call the restaurant but tell them dont cancel the booking, just amend on their own system.
that way we dont loose any bonus or promo with fork.

like 3 to 4 people, or 1 hour earlier or later, should be fine dont change the fork booking

        • +1

Yeah next time I'm just calling the restaurant for the initial booking, though - not using The Fork again!

The welcome code didn't work again for me - I think it was only for my "first booking". So they saw my attempt to use it again on the rebooking and decided BAM! he's a fraudster, suspend his arse. If only their app made something as common as changing booking numbers a feature, rather than forcing a workaround…

        • Used to be able to modify the booking. Not sure why they don’t allow that feature anymore. You can only do a full cancelation and rebook now.

Able to use HNY23 this morning. Their system appears to be based on GMT, giving us an additional 10-11 hours.
