Recommendation for Garage Car Mat to Prevent Hot Tyre Marks

I am looking for a good quality garage car mat that can help prevent hot tyre marks in my epoxy garage floor. Any recommendations on this would be appreciated.

TIA!

Cardboard box? Sounds like your new flooring doesn’t suit it’s purpose.

    • ya the epoxy I installed was from some dodgy tradie who claimed to have used "high quality material" but within less than year I noticed hot tyre marks already. from what I read online, its not always guaranteed that hot tyre marks wont happen even if high quality epocy and good level of preparation is done but atleast can be eliminated with some cleaning. But in my case, it seems there was definitely something lacking.

You doing burnouts in your garage?

Seems like a contradiction - protecting an epoxy floor.

    • Like people who buy covers for their suitcases.

Lino mats squares (45x45cm) from Bunnings. They have adhesive backing so they will stay put on the floor.

    Cardboard.

Your tyres are always going to cause marks.

Could use cheapo wool carpet pieces…. can carpet wash them etc

Seems like you want something to look nice as well as prevent marks… you're not going to find it.

In saying that, hard durometer rubber flooring in a dark colour would probably work, and look half decent. Lots of options with those.

    Just get dark gray floor

Carpet tiles. I used it over regular garage floor. bought from gumtree / facebook for $1 per tile

  • It's a garage, not a pantry. It'll get some scuffs. Move on with life, and/or give the epoxy a proper mildly abrasive polish once a year with a proper machine if you must.

  • Did the tradie use a floor sander before applying the coating or just use an acid wash?
