70

G'day! I spotted this over on Grocery Run. A saving of 77% of the regular price on great Darrell Lea chockies.

"Give this as a gift for any occasion and you know you're going to be popular for a while. Full of some of the best of Darrell Lea's treasure trove of tasty treats, this box contains a fun selection of individually wrapped milk chocolate favourites including Turkish Delight, Flowing Caramel, Orange Truffle, Praline Desire, and Milk Whirl. There's something for everyone in this tray of goodness, and if you decide to grab an extra one for yourself, we won't hold it against you."

Best before is 4 Aug 2012.. if you can't scoff them down before then there's someong wrong ;-p. There is a limit of three per order.. so (not including postage) 1.5kg of Darrell Lea for twelve bucks.

Some other good deals in this run include:

Darrell Lea Milk Choc Orange Balls 500g = $4.98ea
Terry's Milk Chocolate Orange 175g = $2.98
Toblerone Milk Choc 6 x 100g = $5.95

Plus many more to offset the postage. Finishes midday tomorrow, unless sold out earlier. Enjoy!

Wow $2 saving over going to store and paying full rrp

Price will tumble soon as they are in liquidation
    No deal

    • +1

Huh? Two dollars? To buy three boxes it would be $54 buying them in-store. They're $17.94 per box.

Plus you'd have to be some kinda stupid to pay $11 postage on a single $4 item. :-P

  • Aren't Darrell Lea in receivership ???

Will you ever get the delivery?

    • +4

You'd be lucky to get the delivery since it's part of COTD, let alone adding Darrell Lea into the mix.

      • I've used Grocery Run four or five times. Each delivery came within a week. The longest was bang on seven days, and that was only because the Aust Post contractor stuffed up the address.

        • +3

You're lucky, I've ordered twice, and the first order was only 1/2 supplied, and the second order, they took payment, but 4wks later, still never sent my things (after constant nagging from me too)… I'll pass on anything to do with the COTD family…

        • yep, a month delivery, i learnt my lesson, not worth the wait

      • Have used GroceryRun many times and never had a problem… Maybe you were really unlucky.

    • +1

It just means you shouldn't go for the extended warranty

  • The Espresso (Nespresso compatible pods) are cheaper than buying from Nespresso, http://www.groceryrun.com.au/product_info.php?product_id=380…. Not sure what the quality is though.

The wife reckons the Lindt is a good deal but not sure.

  • +3

fwiw, I've used Grocery Run before (and COTD several times), no problems with either delivery or returns.

  • shipping kills the deal, add in the receivership so it may never get delivered there's no bargain here.

    • +2

You're buying from Grocery Run (part of CotD), not directly from Darrell Lea. CotD aren't in receivership, so there shouldn't be any delivery problems (well, aside from the usual problems some people have with CotD).

You'll see a crap load of these in bargain baskets in go-lo soon

  • +3

Wow, if you leave things in your cart without checking out, groceryrun sends you an email to ask if there was a problem and offers half price shipping. Hmm, should I wait another hour…

    • OK, well I'm not sure if it's a technical issue or what but it's not coming up at half price shipping when I checkout. :(

    • I got that on CODT recently when I didn't check out some shoes they gave me a further 10% off but I still didn't want them badly enough.

    • +1

Yes they do, but then when you return to the site… NO SHIPPING DISCOUNT! This mob are crooks, plain and simple.

      • I had the same problem. I emailed them and they said:

Once you have done you will see a box in the top left corner of the Grocery Run homepage. Please press the activate coupon button, this will then allow you to purchase the goods with the discount applied.

I couldn't see any such thing, but I contacted them once I'd completed my order and they refunded the $5.50 I should've had discounted.

        • I emailed support and they said the same thing to me. If that doesn't work I should contact them for a refund of shipping after.

Looks like the site is now offering a bunch of things for free. May add a whole bunch of stuff.

Wow, this is a comedy of errors, in my favour.

I added some of their freebies from today's special:
          1 x Ardmona Marinara Pasta Sauce Base 450g () = $0.00
          1 x Ardmona Pears in Choc Sauce 410g () = $0.00
          1 x 5pc Pedicure Kit () = $0.00
          1 x 5 x Plastic Headbands () = $0.00
          1 x Decor Tellfresh Calendar Tag Set () = $0.00
          1 x SPC Lime Flavoured Jelly with Pears 4pk () = $0.00

Customer service got back to me and said they would refund $5.50 but instead they refunded the entire $11 shipping fee. Pretty happy with that outcome.

  • A saving of $3 on overpriced chocolate practically at its BB date before you get it doesn't seem that great a bargain.

  • +1

The main reason this isn't a bargain for me is the used by date. The fact that Darrell Lea have gone into administration (not liquidation) is not relevant to this deal at all. On that note it is possible that the company will be sold and continue on.

  • Can't you get them cheaper in BigW?
