  • 10% off not bad!

Signed up for a Westpac account just so I can get these. I'm a sucker :(

    • +2

Perhaps unsurprisingly, you can’t be a Westpac customer if you don’t suck at least a little bit

    • +2

$5 monthly account fee sucks. Wtf it's 2022

      • The Commonwealth Net banking is the same but nil if deposit $2000 per month.

        • I've had a cba for like 10 years with 0 in my account. No fees

Maybe I am still a student

        • +3

Westpac also nil if deposit $2k

      • +1

open a Westpac Sharetrading account with the linked CIA bank account, the CIA is fee free

        • Obviously. I mean, you could try to charge the CIA, but you probably wouldn’t survive the weekend

      • +3

I just have 2k on a scheduled payment that circles through the banks.

        • Money laundering 101

  • +2

These kind of 10% deals used to be open for everyone :(

    • +2

It's a cross promotion. Westpac will be paying shopback for these extra deals. There are also many non-Westpac deals on offer

      • +2

Shopback is now owned by Westpac

        • +4

They don't own this multinational company, they are a partner. There would be no point in owning shopback, when it operates in 9 countries Westpac doesn't. They are basic partnered to reward their customers and buy new ones. They have chucked $30mil on the table to make these Westpac deals possible

  • Westpac Booooo!

  • +4

Gotta transfer $2K in/out of your Westpac account every month to avoid that $4 monthly fee.
Probably worth if they keep bringing out these sweet deals.

    • +2

      Fee-free for under 30's 🥳🥳

      • +1

And how long will you be under 30?

        • +4

Give it 10 years… the 02 gives it away :D

          • +1

@dm02: I never thought 02 in your name would stand for 2002 tbh. You are only 6 years older than me but you made me feel pretty old lol.

      • +2

You are making me feel old now.

        • I'll catch up to you sooner than later..

    • How long do you have to leave it there? Overnight or straight back out?

    • see my post above, open the CIA account through Westpac Share trading

      • I would love to have a CIA account where the CIA gives me free money. ;)

Thanks for the heads up on this.

Couple of quick questions that you may be able to answer.

        1) Is the WCIA account on the OSKO/NPP enabled?
        2) Do they audit this account?

        • regarding 1, i've received Osko payments from my other bank accounts but have not made payments from this account so not sure if me receiving answers your question.

          1. i'm not sure sorry
          • @n0mad: Thank you for the reply.

Sounds like you can do inward fast transfers, similar to HSBC.

Once you are approved, and the WCIA account is created, you can then login and request a debit card, right?

            • +1

@DoctorCalculon: ahh looks like you can't actually with that account. I use that account for no or reduced fee on credit cards as i churn so never wanted a debit card.

apologies all, really only good for the above use case when churning cards

              • @n0mad: Is that to keep you active in westpac to make the credit card application easier?

                • +1

@B-Man02: while it does prepopulate some of the application the main purpose is Westpac generally offer a cheaper annual fee to existing customers which this then satisfies.

        • Yes, I have this account for ages. Instant transfer in and out.

          • @apple0604: Since it is not a transaction account, Westpac will not issue you with a debit card, which makes it completely useless for these deals.

            • @DoctorCalculon: I know. I am only answering question about if CIA account is Osko enabled.

      • I cant see anywhere that you can get a visa debit on the CIA. We need a card for shop back

  • -7

So those non Westpac are no longer your customers and you guys don't care anymore right?

    • +1

ShopBack just did a deal without the Westpac partnership

      • +2

Did they just take a page out of Cashrewards usual playbook of $3 for $30? ;-)

        • +5

Better than that garbage $3 bonus with $100 spend they tried a few times…

    • +2

Literally it's a cross promotion, I'm sure Westpac is funding all/some of it. Just like any of those other bank promo/offers (amex, cba and others)

    • +2

Westpac chucked $30mil on the table to make these additional deals happen. You are able to still get standard deals, but these additional deals are to reward Westpac customers (which Westpac is footing the bill)

  • -1

Can this be used more than once per customer, ie getting $25 back on 5 purchases of $50 cards?

    • No

      • Damn that would've been nice but not surprising you can't do it.

    • No

    • +1

From the previous post by the store rep:

Bonus is limited to one per ShopBack account. Additional transactions do not qualify for additional bonuses.

  • -1

Between cashrewards and shopback, there'd better be a very fine deal on external hard drives soon!

    • -1

I mean via Amazon due to loading up on credit. Silly negger

  • Thanks Op

  • Will I still get the Westpac bonus cash back if I pay for the gift card using a combination of shop back credit and the linked Westpac card?

    • +2

ShopBack credit doesn't count. I got tricked the first time round

      • +2

Tricked? Every Westpac lounge giftcard deal states you must pay with your linked Westpac card.

        • Yes, but the app did not mention "in full"

    • +2

No, but with the ebay promotion I have gotten westpac bonus even when paying the majority with gift cards. At least it tracks that amount, whether it approves at that amount is a different story.

  • +4

ShopBack are leaving all the other cashback competitors for dead lately. Yet another stellar deal! And by lately I mean the last few minutes

    • +1

Prezzee is another one worth watching. They have $10 CB on $100 Amazon and a few other deals (BCF, CUE, Netflix, Hoyts, DJs etc). I just like the app because I can store giftcards from elsewhere in the app (Giftcard management).

      • +2

Super swap card is a prezzee card

      • +2

Only $5 on $100 with Amazon

        • Yeh I only see $5 bonus on Amazon, not $10 CB

  • Could you sign up in person at Westpac and get the card on the same day? Or still need to wait for it in the post? Considering signing up just for these deals haha.

    • +3

You can sign up and when you get app access (you can get it straight away), you can view your digital debit card number, exp and CVV (same as a physical card for these purposes).

  • Does Westpac credit card qualify for this deal or have to be everyday account?

  • Thank op

  • thanks, just got one…glad I didn't pull the trigger last night on the cards OTHER than super swap…I wanted something that I could swap to Netflix

  • Can this deal use together with Win 1 of 3 Kogan TV deal?

    • +1

      Yes, both will go through.

    • Damn it didn't see that deal before I bought the card.

  • Yassss

  • My partner and I have separate Westpac credit cards (i.e. One card each with one person's name) but they have the same credit card number, expiry date and CVV.

Are we able to redeem this deal on both of our SB accounts using the said credit card? Or we can't redeem since the Westpac credit card has the same card details except for the name?

    TIA

    • If its the same card number then I think SB will prevent you from adding it to your account as they will think it is the same card being used multiple times.

  • To be a westpac customer 😩

  • Thanks op

  • Still haven't got my bonus from westpac for eBay transaction but menulog one did go through. Weird.

  • So I bought a uber $50 gift card today on Shopback, so do I get $5 back plus the 12% shopback?

    • $5 Bonus on $50 Super Swap Gift Card

  • Cheers got the $50 super swap
