If I were to buy in bulk for 10 of my friends all travelling to Japan for 14 days, 10gb-20gb each, any way to make it a tad cheaper? If not it’s fine will do some research and ask them if these prices are fine for them. But lmk!

Please contact us via live chat and we can do something.

  • NZ seems quite expensive in comparison to some of the other plans found on here

Thank you OP for the deal - have referred my friend to purchase for their trip too now.

i'm going to need some sims for Singapore in March - but I'll wait for your sale next month then :)

    • Thanks for the support!

      -Anton

  • Maybe I'm missing it somewhere but when do these have to be activated by?

    • +1

1 year from purchase date 😊

  • Purchased 2 for my kids travelling in North America. Somehow activation date was incorrect (not sure on who’s end because not documented in invoice), but quickly activated and sorted when WhatsApping. My better half (debateable) swears by Vodafone post paid roaming was envious of Kon’s SIM cards. Great to see a good European option in the mix. Would definitely recommend.

    • Thanks for the support 🙆‍♂️

      -Anton

  • Can someone explain the Japan eSim 14 days data?
    1gb/day (Unlimited Data At 128kbps)
Is it 1gb per day or unlimited data?

    • full speed up to 1GB and then the speed drops to 128kbps (Per day)

    • It sounds like it's capped at 1gb/day and useful for 14 days based on similar plans/offers.

      • Correct :)

    • Note that it's one gigabyte a day, which should suffice. 128 kilobits per second is hella slow (think dial up internet)

  • Damn, I'm aiming to hit Japan next Christmas so will wait for next sale early next year!

Recently purchased Europe sim from last deal. Did not receive in post, (despite tracked postage) Upon enquiring, new sim was sent out with no hassle. Arrived within 72hours.
During travel, had issues activating sim initially. Quick response from travelkon (almost immediate despite time zone differences) to troubleshoot and sorted with no hassle.
Highly recommended for their after sales services and support.

    • Thanks for understanding and your helpful thoughts.

During Covid when the borders were closed I asked if I could get a refund for a sim I bought previously as I could no longer travel and the response was essentially “so sad, too bad”. I know there is no obligation to provide a refund but the lack of empathy and understanding lost them any future business from me or the business of any of my friends and family.

      • Hello could you please share you order number?

        -Anton

      • Well they don’t want to replace my SIMs that simply did not work so refunding for change of mind is wishful thinking.

  • Can you guys do an offer for Africa? There doesn't seem to be any companies who cater to much of Africa. I am travelling to Seychelles in March and would love the ease of a prepaid sim! Thanks!

    • We only have the global eSIM at the moment, Africa SIM is still quite expensive unfortunately.

      -Anton

  • Who are the SIM operators for your NZ and Japan eSIMs?

    • +1

Nz eSIM are with 2degrees and Japan eSIMs are dual operators kddi snd Docomo.

      -Anton

      • Hi, thanks for the answer but I wanted to know the SIM operator not the network it will be roaming on.

In other words, what are the first 5 digits of the IMSI?

        • ping @TravelKon

          • @cynix: Hello our supplier is from HK or Taiwan.

            -Anton

  • @TravelKon do you have the Turkey one in stock?

    • We actually do however we haven’t upload it yet - if we got a chance will upload on Friday.

      -Anton

  • Planning to buy the USA, Canada and Mexico as I go in March, but what is the "Phone's EID Numbers (32-digit)"? Also can I buy now then activate in March?

    • Hello please refer to our website on how to obtain the EID number.

Yes you can buy now and activate in March 2023.

      -Anton

  • Last I bought 2 x Asia sim (joytel) but they didn’t work when I needed it the most. Never buying from them again.

Bought from simcorner and simsdirect are better.

    • What happened? I'm going to indonesia and philippines soon and considering these sims

      • The cards simply wouldn't work, did not get any network signal at all.

      • I haven't been to indo in a few years. Last time I was there, you could buy a local sim at the airport for 3 dollars, get a 5 dollar topup and have 8gb and free calls for a month… Telecom cell rings a bell.

        • +1

          Yea, I did that eventually.
Was a waste of my $40 or so. :\

          • @expatOz: Hello we are sorry to hear your experience - did you contact us during your travels? We have sold thousands of SIMs to Asia and it works fine, sometime it just requires a few adjustment to your settings.

We ask all customers to contact us to troubleshoot the issues with us so we can help.

            -Anton

            • @TravelKon: How am I supposed to contact you when I'm at the airport and the only SIM I was relying on didn't work? :(

              • -1

@expatOz: You would need to find airport in Wi-Fi or at the hotel, customers should always read our product page as well where we list all the things you can do to activate the SIM.

Where people do have issues - we can help to check the settings, the problems can be variable such as data roaming not turned on, network operator is incorrect and the APN details are wrong (note: under perfect scenario these should be all “automatic” however different phones acts differently and some tweaks may be needed)

If the SIM does not work we won’t be in business by now. DM me your order number and we will see what we can do :)

                -Anton

                • -1

@TravelKon: The SIMs were purchased mainly as a backup if Airport WiFI doesn't work :)

Some Asian countries have terrible WiFi and some have weird policies like requiring a national phone number to activate which not everyone has. We ran into those issues and felt the need to activate the SIM but unfortunately it didn't work either. Had to wait until the morning when the Airport staff arrived and provided us a hotspot.

  • can i just buy one of these if im flying out end of month? and don't need to wait for shipping (assume remotely activated)?

    • Yes these are eSIM which will be emailed.

      -Anton

  • Need a NZ sim with data and voice. Europe 30 is a bit expensive.

    • You can get nz sim at nz airport duty free (i.e. right after nz security border, before collecting d checked in luggage). Sign for visitor sim is everywhere for tourist, easy to find. By memory it’s about $30NZD for 7 days with 5GB & calls. Went to Auckland beginning of the year

  • sims didnt work when we needed them in Japan 2 days ago. eventually started working. one sim still doesn't work properly. not very impressed so far

    • Hello, we did have an outage 2 days ago however these has been fixed, could you PM me your order number?

      -Anton

    • are any alternative local sims that you can buy in Japan?

  • Hi op, interested in the USA SIM with calls.. this one: USA Only 30 Days + International Call (T-Mobile) $56.80

    A few q's:
    - Can't seem to see it on the site, is a US mobile number provided - where someone can call you on it? Assuming if so, there are no roaming charges for calls in from Aus to your number.
    - Is there a way you check your usage? As it states 'Note: T-Mobile may de-prioritise your data speed if data usage is over 50GB.'
    - It states 'Mobile Hotspot/Tethering enabled (Please note the SIM will NOT work on Modem/Mifi/Pocket Wifi device)' this will 100% work tethering from my phone to my iPad or laptop from the phone that has the eSIM installed?
    - Lastly, I am leaving on Monday, with activation it states 'You must be connected to Wi-Fi when scanning the eSIM', ideally I'm thinking I'd like to activate it in the coming days, so the question is - can I activiate it in Australia the day before I travel? Or it must be done when in the US?

    Thanks.

    • +1

      Hello,

Yes this is a T-Mobile eSIM which will get you a US number, you can accept calls from Australia without charges.

You can check using the T-Mobile app or check your data using your mobile settings.

Tethering (3G only) will work from your phone to iPad or Laptop.

You can activate this in Australia and get the eSIM running we will send the eSIM based on the date you put.

      -Anton

      • Great thanks.. shame about the tether being 3G though mehh!

      • One more question.. maybe silly…. The US number you are provided can accept SMS correct?
For example - creating a Lyft account (similar to Uber there) they send an OPT which needs to be confirmed.
With this eSIM, I'm ideally still getting calls/messages on my roaming AU Telstra services and also on this new eSIM US number at the same time?
I've used eSIMs many times in the past but they have been data only… this just opens up a new playing field!

        • +1

Yes the T-Mobile eSIM is exactly the same as the physical one which has a mobile phone number.

          -Anton

  • Looking a 30 day Europe option. Do you have better options?

    • Not at the moment unfortunately Europe eSIMs are still expensive we will keep looking to find better ones.

      -Anton

  • Only worth if you’re bothered to deal with their issues. I bought two sims for Japan during this sale: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/738343.
I got both my sims and tried activating them when I arrived in Japan.

I followed all instructions and configured the settings listed here: https://www.travelkon.com.au/product/japan-travel-sim-card-3… but none of that even worked.

I was getting no network signal and no 4G. I contacted them on fb messenger and they blamed it on their “activation server” even though the SIM card description says it’s pre-activated.

In the end I spent the first day in Japan with no data which I needed for navigation. They said they’d refund me by the end of the day which was on the 19th December but I still haven’t received my refund.

    • +1

      Update, I’ve received my refund.

      • +1

        Hi Leon

We have explained that we have an outage on 18/19 December due to the Alibaba cloud server being down which was being used by our supplier.

We never said the SIM is pre-activated the exact wording on our website is "No need to activate, simply insert the sim to activate" since the server was down the SIM was unable to be activated.

We have offered all customers to get either a full refund or if customers are happy to wait for the server outage to be resolved.

We know the experience was not pleasent but this is out of our control and it was an unfortunate event - we have done what we can to compensate.

For everyone else here this event is a very rare occurance, we have sold thousands of SIMs without issue and the server is now back to normal.

        -Anton

    • were there any local esims that you can get in Japan? I know there are physical sims that you can buy on Amazon JP which will deliver to your accommodation but I'm looking for an esim that I can activate immediately upon reaching the airport for navigation like what you were looking for.

  • Any chance of discount on physical sims for Japan and Korea please? :)

    • This is our last sale for the year :)

      -Anton

  • Europe 15 days for $44. No Thanks.

Can get 30 days from SIMcorner or SIMSdirect for $30ish even without discount.

    • Are you comparing apples to apples?

You may be comparing against Physical SIM card - which we also have for better value.

eSIM price are still expensive and comparable with them.

      -Anton

      • I'd love to see the link to EU physical sims with better value.

        • We currently do not sell the physical $30-ish EU sim cards (which we used to sell - still looking for alternative).

If you compare the same products (other EU sims) we are better value :)

          -Anton

  • Says coupon has expired. Even though expiry later tonight

    • Apologies, this has been fixed.

      -Anton

  • Amazing customer service! Set me up within minutes yesterday while I was overseas and could not use my mobile network. Thank you for the speedy response on XMas day, appreciated. Cheers.

    • Happy to help :)

      Merry Christmas.
