  • These any good?

    • +3

Yeah it got quite a few positive reviews.

But as I started reading them I realised that at some point it was sold for $1… Which explains the positivity of the reviews.

Some say this is better than the Dyson v16

Yeah nah, this is inferior to a Dyson V8, but probably worth buying given the price

    • +1

      It's Dyson or nothing ;p

    • +2

There's Dyson. Everything else is a cheap imitation.

      • +3

Some would say Dyson copied JASHEN…

        • +4

          Only JASHEN said that…

    • Some say this is better than the Dyson v16

Yeah nah, this is inferior to a Dyson V8

Have you seen how a Dyson V16 performs though?

      • Yeah it's crap..

It's so bad it doesn't even exist yet

Ozbargain needs a new tag for these kinds of Amazon deals. "F5 or OOS in 5sec" or something like that.

To save something, you have to pay for somthing else.

        • +3

@Avi001 you must be fun at parties

    • +8

That's why I want with the natural gas powered Dyson. No electricity needed!
It even works during a blackout so I can keep the house clean.

    • The V16's received a lot of good reviews from people in previous deals. This could be the same.

    • +2

Unlike all those other electricity-free vacuum cleaners on the market.

  • Bought two. What could go wrong? 😒

    • should've bought 3

      • +2

        3 is broden territory

  • +3

This deal has triggered PTSD for me from the Trouver 11 saga

    • +1

Haha same, my trouver 11 is still going strong but wouldn't mind a new battery

      • +1

Mine and a lot of others’ batteries died in 6 months

        • Did you get a replacement ordered in the end? Mines still going ish but not holding my breath for much life left in it.

          • +1

@Jmore1231: Nope. Saw all the forum posts about the trouble people were having getting solutions, so I chucked it in the end. Looked brand new

    • Trouver is good I still use it daily…

  • +1

Bought 4. Christmas for the kids sorted.

    • +3

      Your kids' Christmas will suck.

  • Is this even legit.

    • +2

      Too legit to quit

  • +3

People love dysons and I don't know why they get such unanimously positive reviews, battery powered vacs are all inferior to mains powered units. I replaced my dyson with a miele corded vac and it's like night and day. Battery powered vacuums just don't have enough power to pick up hair and even some more stubborn dust.

    • +1

Of course they are better. It's because people can't be assed plugging in a vacuum and lugging it around, me included.

    • My Viomi A9 beats my Dyson any day with hard floors. Dyson are behind now.

      • Doubtful it'll last well considering the 3.1 star avg on Productreview.com.au and users saying there are numerous battery issues.
Unfortunately Dyson models typically perform best on hardfloors with the fluffy/soft roller head, which is only included on the expensive models though.

        • You're speculating and I'm talking real world usage.

Ever since the Dyson patents expired everyone else has been getting better. It's like how Roomba held the robot vacuum monopoly and were overtaken so easily by everyone else. They got lazy and were slow to innovate.

          • @Clear: With all due respect, what Dyson are you basing that off? They’ve come a long way even in the last 3 years. If your needs are basic, a cheap machine will do a great job, if you want the highest performance, there’s still nobody that successfully competes with the top models. the best do a good job up to competing with V11, but nothing more powerful.

  • Just got notification that it has been dispatched

  • dang too late

  • Is there even a Dyson v16??

    • +5

Haha nope. That's how I was able to make that outrageous claim

  • Just stick a Dyson logo on it.

  • +1

Well Just got following message from the seller. What should be the action?

Thank you very much for purchasing our vacuums.
Due to a mistake in my work, the original price of the vacuum you purchased should be $168.99,but it had been set to $98 caused by my mistake, and it also has a wrong coupon of $60(i just want to set a coupon of $6) , so this vacuum being sold at an impossibly low price ($38).
I sincerely implore you to reject or return the item, I know it was my own fault, but such a low selling price does not cover the cost of the item and the shipping costs at all.
If I can't recover this loss, I will be fired and need to make up the loss. This is my first job and it is very important to me, please help me to keep this job, thank you very very much!

    Regards,
    JASHEN official store

    • Just received the same message.. I kinda feel bad for him/her although it's weird that they got the list price and coupon amount wrong??

      • +1

Well I don't think business can force you to pay for the loss. Yes job loss is a concern but business would have insurance for losses.

They shouldn't have posted the item.

      • You feel bad because you believe them. You should be suspicious first, then worry about feelings later

    • No mercy for Capitalists imo.

These are drop-shipped and FBA: Cost for similar units are low as $35 USD according to AliBaba, so it makes sense they'd beg for people to cancel orders, since I think it's out of their hands when fulfillment is by Amazon. (correct me if I'm wrong)

Hopefully his employer has no legal recourse for a mistake like that; but consumer law has your back here, no matter the (likely phony) guilt trip.

    • Seems a bit sus. Is this a scam? Similar to this one, although in this case they didn't ship yet when the seller sent a message - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/658762#comment-11238855

I also checked the reviews and it seems like they sold the item for cheap for reviews. $1 ?
      https://www.amazon.com.au/JASHEN-Cordless-Floorhead-Adjustab…

So I'm wondering if there's a scam going on here?

      • Very odd, but I don't understand the scam if Amazon refund the buyer. What would the seller get for setting up a weird scam like this? Unless the coupon is co-funded by Amazon and the seller gets some sort of kickback for any returns? Still seems bizarre

      • +2

One more thing I noticed. He says "Due to a mistake in my work, the original price of the vacuum you purchased should be $168.99,but it had been set to $98 caused by my mistake". I checked the 3 camels and I can see the price was $98 since September 25, 2022 so he is definitely lying about that part.

        • Yep, something doesn't smell right

    • But did you actually receive the vacuum yet?

  • I got my order delivered 30 minutes ago, NSW. Yet to open and test.

  • Getting mine today, not returning it.

  • Yep, i’ve received it.
Also got the sob story email as well. No sympathy for vendors, particularly as they wouldn’t refund you if they « accidentally » overcharged by « accidentally » increasing their prices.

  • I Have received mine - is it a dyson - far from it > just like the price -
cheap plastic feel - small dust canister - had a quick go on flat battery- looks like carpet head - worked awesome :)
2 speed - sucked up rubbish on floor without tearing the carpet to bits can swap to brush head guessing for hard floors

2 step process to open canister - bit of a pain

    outta 10 for the price - 9 - outta 10 compared to my V8 Dyson - for the price 7 - for the quality 3 to 4
if the battery lasts it will be better than the xomi v9 Piece Of Ship i brought

    I didnt get the email

  • Did anyone else receive a box which had been opened previously? Just noticed the 'Jashen' tape has been cut and then resealed with clear tape

    • +1

Yes mine had been. I opened everything and they all looked brand new.

I suspect it was opened for inspection?

Vacuum was a welcome Christmas gift. Tested it today and it works great.

      • Thank you, good to know it's not just mine. You're right, it's probably just opened for inspection.

  • Got my vacuum. Actually pleasantly surprised!!
