I forgot how much eBay sucks now with its item pricing. Showing the lowest price for the most useless product on any item page.

    • +1

Same as Aliexpress. They show a list of items but only display the cheapest price for most insignificant item.

      • +2

AliExpress is on a different level. It used to be easy to sort by price, but now they hide the postage in half the products, so you need to click on them to see its a $0.75 product with $11 postage. I avoid AliExpress for most items just based on that

        • Yeah, they recently removed free shipping from search options.

They stiĺl exist and you can hack the URL address to correctly show high to low and other searches that previously existed

Should note - 65W output is only available if the input is above 20V - which writes off most cars.
The 100W version (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313561954988?hash=item4901bfbaac…) can offer 100W output from 12V is my understanding.

    • This is a very big deal, hiding the most important aspect. For 98% of people, this is NOT a 65W charger.

And if you did have a 24V input to get 65W out, such a small charger without GaN is going to double as a cigarette lighter.

      (And I'm a guy who willingly bought the $10 Heymix 35W :-)

      • I may be wrong but theoretically as far as I can see it's a better than 66W charger for 12V vehicles, if the specs are correct, assuming you're charging two devices simultaneously. If you use only the type C connection and charge one device the max is roughly 36W for the Baseus above.

    • Not sure about that. Specs I saw suggest very little diff for 12V vehicles, assuming your devices can accept the max output from the Baseus anyway:

"65W" version: 12V vehicles - 36W (12V/3A) for the C connection + 30W (12V2.5A) for the USB - total 66W (if you use both connections at the same time).
"100W" version: 12V vehicles - both type C + USB are 36W (12V/3A) - total 72W (if you use both connections at the same time).
In theory you could actually get slightly better because a healthy 12V (non-lithium) battery is roughly 12.6-12.9V at rest. In practice with heat and other inefficiencies you may get less than the specs from what I've read.

Also, while the car is running, it'll be the alternator supplying current, at a slightly higher voltage so it can charge the car battery. This could be in the range of 13.5-14.5V.

  • I've got this, it's good but it isn't worth $30, barely worth $18 imo.
It's a plastic tube with a very small amount of circuitry inside.

Their voltage detector helped to identify a friend weakening car battery. Good to have if you dont have a voltmeter handy.

    • Didn't you know that before you bought it?

      • No, I thought it would work a stated bit it charges slower than I thought it would.

        I paid $15 iirc.

Anything good with 2 x usbc and 1 usb ?

    Eg: is this good?

    • Can your device manage QC5?
If not you won't get the speed/power in this charger's specs.

      • Dont think so?
Will be mainly used to charge my s20+, iphone 13…

I have this charger and I'm very happy with it. It charges my Dell XPS laptop, my tablet and phone at their respective fastest charging speeds.
Having 3 USB ports can on the rare occasion be handy also. It also has a subtle blue ring light around it, not a glaringly bright LED.
They make great Kris Kringle gifts or just regular family Christmas/birthday presents. Or you could just buy it and if you don't like it re-gift it!!

      • Sorry a noob question, does this work on 12V battery cars or should have 24V battery installed?

        • Just to clarify, my statement/reply was in reference to @hashish comment asking if the Baseus 160W Car USB Type C Charger was any good, which yes it is and it does work with normal 12V cars, charging at up to 100W, but when I plugged in my Dell XPS laptop or Samsung tablet it would charge at over 30 watts which is no where near 100W but it's still very useful. I also have the Baseus 65W car charger advertised here and this one will not charge my Dell XPS laptop at all, but it will charge my Samsung tablet at over 30W and my Pixel phone very quickly, so I'm assuming the 65W car charger does need a 24V input to acheive 65W.

  • Why there is a GST ? Is that post from oversea ?

    • Depends on the business' annual turnover inOz - $75K is the threshold. Some small businesses apply GST irrespective. Whether they pass it on to the ATO is anyone's guess.

    • Seems many items are from China, hence GST

    • +2

      Blame Gerry Harvey.

    • yep said shipping from china …..so do you need it before christmas ….

      • Yes, need now

    • I have now changed the link to one that is available in Australia. I didn't link the one in China. The mods changed my deal description as the description is completely different to what I had originally. The description doesn't make sense if I'm pointing to a product arriving from China. Not sure why the mods did that but anyways…

  • Was going to jump on the Bluetooth 5.1 adapter, but when searching around it seems like the "discounted" 15% off price here is basically your run of the mill price for it.

If the 15% off code was not already applied and would stack and reduce the price shown then best case scenario it is very slightly (like $1) cheaper than other sources.
