The NUCs always seemed to me to be relatively pricey but the NUC laptops often look like value whenever I see them posted here. Why is it so?

  Nuc, and nuc laptop are completely different products, these are basically Intel reference laptops, actual nucs are low volume highly custom small PC's, low volume + unique product = high price

  These NUCs are made by Tangfang and the BIOS is provided by intel.
  
  I have an 'Intel NUC x15' which has a i7 and 3060 and it's fine for the 1200 that i'd paid for it, but it's nowhere near the quality of a NUC desktop… i.e., the 8 bit screen does not have hdr and the speakers are utter trash .. overall generic looking… but works fantastically well for a $1200 i7/3060 laptop.
