Eureka Mignon Specialita €347.95 + €45 Delivery (~A$610), €358.15 Delivered with Voucher (~A$556) @ Espresso Coffee Shop

I was sad that I missed their black Friday 15% storewide deal but it seems that €347.95 it's the new normal price for the OzBargain favourite Eureka Mignon Specialita.

The product page have a "Ask for a discount" button that a representative quickly shared a 3337 code via email and got another ~9-10% off (€34.80) to possibly an ever low total of €358.15 (~A$556) including shipping and plug to Australia.

If the code doesn't work, try requesting a new one for yourself https://www.espressocoffeeshop.com/en/content/7-request-a-di…

Double black is only €335.66 (just choose the other 'set up' under black color option)

    • Cheaper here, $499 delivered.

          Sorry my bad.

      • That’s the Manuele you’ve linked to. The grinder in this deal is the pricier Mignon, which has the timer and, if I remember correctly, slightly bigger burrs.
        Both great grinders though.

There is no way on earth alternative brewing is cheaper than anyone

  • +2

I got mine during the last deal and am super happy with it. It’s nice to receive something so well built in a world of plastic and cheap components.

I’m sure I’ll keep this for a very long time.

    • +2

Did it replace another grinder? How are you finding the coffee?

      • +4

this is a while ago now, but mine replaced my breville smart grinder and boy it was a world of difference.

      • +1

Replaced a Breville Smart Grinder Pro

The SGP is great and makes fantastic coffee if workflow is optimised. But it’s nice to go from maximising the quality of espresso on a cheaper grinder for years to then move onto the Eureka that is effortlessly capable.

  • +1

I got mine at the start of the year (all black, not black/chrome which is slightly more expensive) for ~500AUD and it’s been great. Definitely worth going with something like this over the Breville Smart Grinder that a lot of people often start with, if you can afford it.

What are the noticeably differences in the actual coffee your are drinking?

      • Balanced, rounded flavors, more velvety texture and crema.

        • +1

Pretty much everything you're looking for in coffee

  • How long does the shipping usually take?

    • +1

From what I've heard - under a week.
I think they use FedEx or DHL.

      • Tks! Might be able to receive before xmas!

    • +2

this was in the middle of covid but mine took 3 days, from italy to sydney.

Literally the most insane delivery I have ever gotten

      • +1

Faster then SYD to MEL from Auspost lol

    • Uses UPS express and take around 3-5 business days

    • I got one during the Black Friday sale — ordered it on the Friday, and it arrived from Italy the following Wednesday. Faster than most of the stuff I've had shipped within the same city recently.

    • Mine was delivered in 5 business days from memory.

    • I ordered Tuesday and got mine Monday the next week. I believe it went Italy > Germany > Louisiana > Hawaii > Sydney

I have placed orders in Sydney that have taken longer to arrive on my doorstep.

    • sounds the shipping is superb however quality/customer service is questionable… hmm.

      • I don't see many comments about customer service…
From reading comments on previous "deals" from these guys I remember two comments:
In one case the hopper cracked during the shipping and Espresso Coffee Shop sent replacement hopper.
In the other case something was wrong with the grinder itself on arrival and Espresso Coffee Shop paid for the return shipping (the same very fast express UPS or whatever), once they receive returned grinder they shipped the brand new one again with the same express post).
I don't remember anyone commenting after sales (warranty) service.

Update: sorry for jumping the gun too quick, read some other negative stories below.

Good grinder, but weigh up the savings over warranty etc.. I bought mine from last year from these guys and it arrived faulty with a broken switch. Got absolutely no support, so ended up swapping the switch out myself. V happy with the grinder since then though..

    • That's enough to warrant a neg on this deal IMO, if nothing else just to raise visibility for people not reading the comments

    • Bummer. I had hight expectations from these guys (see my comment above). :(

  • +5

KEEP IN MIND when you buy from these guys, you buy it without a warranty: they sent me a faulty grinder and would not respond on my enquires to fix/replace it.
There were also reports that some grinders arrived with inside screws with stripped heads (factory seconds ?).
Otherwise, it’s a cheaper alternative as long as you’re happy to take a bit of risk.

    • Exactly this folks… BUY WITH CAUTION.

I have a post on Reddit:
      https://www.reddit.com/r/espresso/comments/z5n09m/eureka_mig…

Mine came with top burr screws missing and a broken front screen holder.

For the past 2 weeks I tried contacting them through all channels to no avail… maybe the standard response time in Italy is 2 months?

      • Thanks. Bought mine on BF sales, and was waiting for xmas to open and set up, but thought I better open it and at least check that it looked okay and the screws were there. Thankfully mine looks fine.
Now that it's open… I guess I might as well use it before xmas, just to make sure it's all working…

        • I admire your discipline :)

      • I’ve heard that they don’t reply to the info@ email. There’s a support@ address I’ve heard people have better success with.

        • Thanks, I've tried that email also :(

          • @Lastora: Ah damn, that’s unfortunate. It’s a really nice machine besides the inconsistent retailer service.

I just remembered that I asked them a question through [email protected] and they replied within minutes.

            • @Reticent: Yeah, they seem to be monitoring the inbox for sure, also from their live chat. If I ask them a question about stock availability they answer me within 2, 3 days…

  • Nice price! I’ve got the one model down which is the Silenzio.

There’s a few notable upgrades which helped me on my single dosing workflow.

    1) replace the hopper with single dose hopper. Found a set on AliExpress which is pretty good

    2) replace the fork with one that holds it closer and also triggers the grind button. Found at Etsy 3D printer. This is the GOAT of the upgrade IMHO.

    • Do you have links? Is the single dose hopper the one with the bellows?

    • Agree with this. The grind flies everywhere. I solved it by buying a dosing ring and that kept the mess minimal.

      • Do you have a link to the dosing ring you could share please? I have found one on Etsy but not sure if it will suit our Eureka.

        • It's not so much about suiting the Eureka as suiting your portafilter. If you have a 58mm portafilter, this might suit you. If you have a 51mm, you might get this instead.

          • @NigelTufnel: Thanks, I’ll take a look. I know they’ll fit the portafilter but the added height of the ring could prevent you getting in close enough to push the grind button.

            • +1

@Pecan: Right, Yeah, I've seen some people take the little plastic bit below the spout off as well to help with that.

            • @Pecan: I have this grinder and I bought a dosing funnel. You have to readjust the fork thing, but there is room to put in the portafilter with the funnel on and still press the button. It works fine.

        • You can also look at a dosing cup to use with this grinder. I bought a 58mm cup because it always used to send a heap of grids down the side. Works really well - zero mess.

      • Totally agree about the grind flying everywhere. I got a dosing ring that attaches to the portafilter, and give the beans a light spritz of water before I dump them in the grinder (I single-dose, so it's easy to do), and it made a world of difference.

  • 2 questions:

    1. What's the noise level of this compared to the Silenzio?
    2. How much of an improvement is this over a Lido E hand grinder? It has 48mm conical burrs.
    • What's the noise level of this compared to the Silenzio?

Very similar. Listen here Ignore the blue grinder, compare the mint and grey machines he tests (Silenzio and Specialita respectivly)

  • Another vote for "this thing is awesome and my coffee has improved out of site".

  • I have been using it for 1 year, it's a decent grinder. Warranty and support, I am glad I did not need it.

I got a reply from the seller, they do communicate. Don't think there would be warranty issue on a brand new unit.

  • I bought a Macap M42D from this store a few weeks ago. I was originally looking for Mini Mazzer but couldn't pass this up as it was unbelievably cheap; it retails in Australia for $1100, but they were selling this model at 50% off AND had a Black Friday offer. All up I paid something like $420 including delivery. Delivery was UPS, and it arrived on the Thursday after ordering it on the Sunday, so four business days. I reckon if I'd bought it online in Melbourne it would have been slower to arrive.

All in all a good buying experience. Obviously warranty will be problematic, but these things are bullet proof and designed to be repaired so I'm not hugely worried.

Just received mine within a week and loving it!
