Hi all,
Have seen a budget mobile phone I've been wanting for a long time on sale at Hardly Normal. I don't want to spend money there after the whole Jobkeeper debacle, so I plan on having the item price matched at Officeworks (or anywhere, really)
Are there any great deals on gift cards at the moment so I could get further savings? I have tried to keep track of gift card discounts but have completely lost track after Black Friday (big couple of weeks in my household). Or any significant cashback offers.
Any help appreciated, cheerio
The current 15% off Ultimate gift card offer at Coles may be a good place to start.
The deal has gift cards that can be redeemed at JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks and The Good Guys.
Just be mindful of some of the drawbacks of the deal:
You need to go to a physical Coles store to purchase the gift cards. Fingers crossed you live near a Coles store!
Stock is incredibly hard to come by for the gift cards that can be redeemed at JB Hi-Fi (or at least have JB Hi-Fi logo on the front).
The variable load denomination (the one where you can load up to $500 onto a single gift card) is excluded. In other words, only the fixed $30, $50 and $100 Ultimate gift card denominations are part of the sale.
Some Coles stores are still selling the older EFTPOS version of Ultimate gift cards. You generally would want to avoid those, as they are more limited than the Visa version pictured in the catalogue.
Split payments between multiple Ultimate cards is basically impossible when purchasing from a particpating retailer online, but is generally possible for instore transactions (unless you get a staff member who tells you that split payments are not allowed). There may be workarounds to the online redemption limitations, but it depends on the specific participating retailer you're interested in.
I'll leave it up to you whether that deal is worth it in your eyes.
