Mark your calendars. Again. Apple is apparently pushing back the launch of the Apple Car another year to 2026. And instead of costing $120,000 or more, the vehicle will reportedly be priced under $100,000.

This is recording to a new report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman(opens in new tab), who says that Apple no longer plans to launch a fully autonomous vehicle. So, yes, the Apple Car will likely have a steering wheel and pedals, despite an initial self-driving vision of a vehicle so smart that passengers could face each other inside the cabin.

    No doubt this will be electric only. Is it safe to assume it can only be charged with an Apple proprietary product?

      Highly likely given the history of how Apple operates.
      Also, the Apple Car variant costing less than $100,000 USD will be like earlier iPhones with16GB storage which could translate to may be 150miles per charge!

      And added to this;
      It will only come in identical shapes, just smaller and larger versions of the same thing (one version will just have a smaller windscreen).
      It will cost 10x more than an equivalent from another manufacturer and be slower and will be powered by an electric motor that all the other cars have, but with an X at the end.
      All the tech will be stolen from other companies and will just be made by a Chinese company that already makes cars.
      Every year they will release a new one, that is identical to the last one, except this one is 5% faster, and weirdly, at the release of the new one, your old one will suddenly only last about half the range.
      You wont be able to charge it from any cable, as it will only charge at 10%, unless you buy the $1,200 MFi certified charging cable.
      You wont be able to replace anything on the vehicle, as the vehicle will throw a fault that the tyres you put on are non-genuine and it will stop other feature of the vehicle working if you do change anything.
      Apple will then carry on like they invented the car and how this will change transport as we know it.
      Everyone will race out and buy one, just to say that they are an individual and that they aren't a sheep, as they drive around in their cookie cutter car that is identical to everyone else's.

        Samsung will make fun of how stupid the Apple car is and mock the features (or lack thereof) in a series of hip videos, then copy every single one the following year…

            Samsung is planning to use a battery production technique normally used for electric vehicles to create more energy-dense smartphone batteries, in a move that could improve the battery life of future iPhone models
            Samsung SDI has supplied batteries for MacBook and iPad models in the past, but has never manufactured batteries for iPhones

        Need to add that the genuine Apple charging cable will be uniquely Apple and will fail inside 12 months.
