i am nearing the end of the game and i've made only 2 sandwich for the novelty.
i didn't even need to make TMs so i've been just accumulating heaps of LPs and whatever items..
@slowmo: The sandwiches are for hunting specific species, breeding, shiny hunting, etc.
They can also be used for increasing happiness of mons for friendship evolutions.
Which, y'know, lots of people do in these games afterall. 'Catching them all' is significantly easier with sandwiches.

think you are missing my point entirely or ignoring it. i just completed the game story w/o using any of those mechanics. this mechanic is redundant to the game story and worthless to any one who is just after the story. it looked like a design flaw to me.
sure, you can catch them all and 100% a pokemon game. most kids i know lose interest and goes on to the next game. you have to like this particular pokemon game a lot to 100% it before the next pokemon game comes along.
He's right though. All those ingredients are available from practically any town and costs less than 10k PokeBucks.
The guy has a point, the kind of player getting the most out of sandwiches is pretty far end game and has access to all the stores and heaps of cash.
