My alternate experience. Got this for my asian partner who has thick dense hair and she LOVES it.
I also have asian hair and I love it. While it definitely doesn't 'hold' curls, it gives a great bouncy voluminous hair like a blow dry. If you're looking at getting curls, definitely invest in a good straightener instead.

Looking for a Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer for mum for xmas, why is it only refurbed on the page?
Anyone used one recommend it?Been using the dyson hairdryer for 5+ years. Have 3 females with long hair in the family and its great because its strong and cuts down the drying time by like half compared to the standard hairdryers.

sharing my experience only -
paid some $600 for this some years ago. Wifey did not like it at all. Though this fancily wraps the hair and give that curl look, apparently it does not stay, even when you use the spray directly after. I initially thought it was probably her hair type - thin and straight, but I've now chatted with a few people who have it and they all say the same - expensive product, doesn't work the way you'd expect it to. Read some reviews, and many people were complaining about it too.
So I suggest you factor all this in before you bite the bullet.
