Wot?? Aldi selling ps5 games now?

  • +2

lol didn't realise Aldi sell video games.

  • +3

Love the cover art, well done EA!

    • -7

      L

    • +1

Complete opposite. I went out of my way to try and find the mbappe version, as i didnt want the kerr edition.
In the end i got neither and found someone selling their digital version.

      • +9

The cover art doesn't affect the game in any way shape or form, why go out of your way?

        • -6

They were the same price in the end but still didnt get them. Amazon had both for $49 which was cheapest at the time. But opted for digital instead.
These are personal preferences so not sure why my comment is upsetting everyone else as we are all entitled to our preference.

          • +1

@maverickjohn: You said you "went out of your way" to find the Mbappe version. This is hilarious to me, imagine being so invested over a woman being on video game cover art you actively hunt out an alternative lol

            • -4

@csandoe: Wow i just cant believe how upset everyone is over this. I buy FIFA on an annual basis. I knew both editions existed from the start. I still dont buy them on launch due to their rapid price drop so when black friday came a long i knew what i wanted to buy and was looking for it.
If I own a disc id prefer to have a version i would be happy with. I honestly dont understand why everyone is making a big deal about it. In all honesty even if it had Duke or Leckie etc and there was a Mbappe version i would have still gone Mbappe. But this seems to be a place for people to voice out their ridiculous agenda of " hey theres a guy here who doesnt want females on case. Lets all target him with anti feminist responses." Ridiculous. The world is going too far with these ridiculous responses that people cant even voice their opinions. What a sad place to be a part of.

              • +5

                @maverickjohn:

that people cant even voice their opinions.

have you noticed that no one has prevented you from posting your opinion? In what way has anyone gone "too far"?
They're merely just responded to your opinion, and you're using it as an excuse to play the victim, which from the sounds of it is something you relish doing

                • +1

@Raynes: You clearly haven't noticed, everyone is pointing out the 'woman' component in their responses as if that what drove me to find an alternative. All i said was I "didn't want the Kerr edition". Some of the community think they are geniuses and can read my mind thinking i don't want females on my video games.
Do you not see how ridiculous this turned out from one comment around wanting an alternative cover.
And once again you are wrong around the victim playing, more along the lines of shocked at the responses im getting, which have all been incorrect, as this isn't anything to do with female athletes, yet everyone is making that the point of their argument.

                  • @maverickjohn: I agree with you, I'd rather have the mbappe version too, but I didn't know there was an option until I saw your post, so ended up with kerr

            • +4

@csandoe: I can't see where he's said anything about Kerr being female? I feel like people are jumping to conclusions.

Personally I'd avoid that cover so I don't have to see someone in a Chelsea kit everytime I want to play it.

      • +8

imagine being this much of a triggered snowflake

        • -3

Better than being triggered by a comment that doesnt affect you.

      • Game recognises game

      • +1

        why not print your own?

    • +6

Not sure why you are getting downvoted Kerrs a champ player.

      • -1

        Kerr is an absolute champion.

Marverickjohn is just showing his true colours as another ignorant, privileged male.

        • +1

Funny that you include me in the comment. As i said its personal preference. Lots of female athletes that i would be happy to have on covers. I particularly am not a fan of Sam Kerr. If for example Ash Barty was on the cover of a tennis one i would have been ok buying that.
This community interprets comments in the most ridiculous way.
You go against one athlete and all of a sudden people revert to "ignorant priveleged male" honestly some of the dumbest responses come out here.

        • +2

And you're jumping to conclusions. Where's he said he didn't like it because it has a female on the cover?

      • Yeah I felt sad that someone takes the time to neg a positive comment trying to celebrate a champion and role model…

    • FIEA 22

  • new to me

  • +33

Can't wait to play the stadium construction campaign mode where you have to source slaves from around the world. EA returns to its sim-city roots.

    • +4

Be careful which civilisation you choose, as most wont let you use salves after a certain point.

  • Won't be buying but take my upvote for the description

  • +3

More interested in the Viomi a9 for $199.

    • Thats a pretty good deal, $50 saving v Catch!

  • +13

Ah yes yearly sport game release to milk gullible buyers, as expected of EA

    • This is the last EA FIFA game ever.

      • +10

Yeah, they will just rebrand without the FIFA though I guess. Was weird seeing FIFA being more greedy than EA.

        • +4

          ‘EA Sports FC’

Just doesn’t have the same ring to it

        • +1

EA definitely would have loved when Blatter was in charge, being all corrupt in tandem.

      • +1

Ikr, how is it so hard to understand that to add a new player, EA has to completely remake the game from the ground up and resell it to me.

  • -1

ALDI is selling PS5 video games??????
Maybe just in conjunction with ongoing Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022

  • +6

This or wait one year for when it’s $2?

  • +2

So basically instead of playing now whilst World Cup fever is at it's higher, wait until after it's over, then get it for a few dollars cheaper.

I actually found great satisfaction playing the World Cup live mode where you play the same matches as the real thing… it may have been my first game (prior to difficulty auto adjusting) but Australia beat Argentina 10-0.

    • +3

      10-0 brutal rinsing

  • Can this one be upgraded to Ultimate edition for playing with my PS4 friends?

Modified: The ultimate edition is now in sale on PSN https://www.playstation.com/en-au/games/ea-sports-fifa-23/

  • +1

Already got FIFA 2020, 2021 and 2022. I don't know what this fake ass 2023 Fifa game is, but I think I'll be ok to make my own world cup without it.

    • +1

The last few world cups were too contradicting.

    • +2

it’s turned into loot boxes and slots with soccer on the side

      • Sadly, eFootball is even worse in playing exp from what I heard.

    • +2

Haha why buy the same game 3 years in a row.

      • Looks like we're paying for the player info update fees mostly…

      • I think i got 2020 for $1, then the other two for $9. I wanted the ray tracing in 2021. 2022 probably not needed but I guess i'll play that now.

  • +3

I used to be a Fifa head, had purchased qnd played Fifa's 08 - 11. Out of that lot Id say I played Fifa 09 the most, funny thing is that I barely touched Fifa 10 (save data corrupted within a few days of buying it. Instead of starting again I cracked it and stopped). I pre ordered Fifa 11 and started playing Fifa 10 again to warm up for the release. Long story short Fifa 11 is still shrink wrapped today lol.

Fifa 12 was a good one (looked amazing on pc), skipped to Fifa 15, then Fifa 17 and Fifa 19. Fifa 23 has been fun.

My all time favourite Fifa is Fifa 98 RTWC (because of the qualifying for the world cup…. which you then had to buy world cup 98 to play the event).

Fifa 2002 was great, enjoyed the ganeplay and the on screen graphics (scoreboard and power meters).

Fifa 2004 was the beginning of a new era for me (changed the AI where it became harder - weren't able to just go on a dashing run end to end and score as easily as before).

    • +7

      cool man

    • Accurate reflection on all points. FIFA 05 was my favourite and world cup 02 was wild, FIFA 03 also gets an honourable mention with the new passing and shooting. RTWC98 had indoor as well which was good fun. Qualifying with Australia going via South America was madness back in the day. Stopped buying at 20, get it on game pass now. Got it on release day for 20 years. Not a fan these days. Can't wait to see the mess FIFA do with it

      • +1

FIFA 98 is my favourite edition.

I loved the indoor mode. It was so ridiculous but so much fun.

Also: Song 2 - best song of all time for FIFA!

    • +1

i've also started playing at FIFA 98 RTWC…man, we are that old.

      • +1

My first actual Fifa was on pc in the mid 90s, the diagonal camera view made it easy to exploit the AI by standing in front of the goalie, intercept the ball and score.

Fifa 96 was a good one, enter in cheat codes and as the goalie you could boot the ball from the opposite end and score. Oh and no red cards with intentional fouls was hilarious!! Just knock every player over,, good times!!

        • I started on Fifa 98 World Cup (the one with the trophy itself on the box cover… back when you bought games in cereal boxes) and used to do the same… sometimes offside got triggered so primary school me just disabled that :)

  • Yeah Nah Qatar

    • Yeah Nah Qatar, Yeah Nah Qatar

    • Next year its called EA Football/Soccer, no more FIFA

  • +2

Nah, too expensive! I want to spend my $300 billion.

  • I'm assuming the switch one is just rebadged FIFA from 5 years ago again, heads up for anyone

  • -6

Does it come with snipers in the crowd? Can you actually play as the sniper as well?

  • the first cross-platform FIFA right ?

    • FIFA 22 supports crossplay now, just between consoles and not with PC though

  • I'm going to buy this
Play Australia V Argentina as exhibition match
    Set to amateur
    And score 20-0 against Argentina

    That will bring back satisfaction

    • +1

I only managed to get 10-0 but that was set to the shortest time possible.

      • What difficulty. I defeated Argentina 8-1 on professional. 6 min.

  • -4

A woman on the cover lol? no one will ever play her because even at her best, she would be below average compared to a male player. Who even watches women's Football?

  • Anyone get this today is there much stock around
