Looking at getting my niece some Air Pods (3rd Gen) or Air Pods Pro (2nd Gen) for Christmas.
Anyone know of any bargains around? All deals have expired. Is it worth getting the pro for her? she is 13.

She has ANC headphones already, so these would be commute to and from school and general convenience.
I may just go with the Airpods 3rd gen then.

I cant say about the best price but the pros 2 are alot better than the normal airpods 3rd gen.

are these legit? i have checked the serial number and it looks like it is. can anyone else confirm please?
If it’s sealed shut like that, you can never be 100% sure… they can just paste serial numbers of some legit pair on a bunch of replicas.
I believe, to be sure you need to pair the AirPods with your Phone during the meetup, test them and check the serial number etc

Maybe buy some non apple earphones…? There’s loads of decent options in the market now, I have head Raycons are good.
Best bet from here is probably the discount giftcard route, I wouldn't expect much else until boxing day on Apple products. I'm not sure about airpods in particular but margins on Apple products aren't massive, so it's on Apple to provide a discount that retailers pass on.
What's her use case for them? Noise cancellation is generally best for travel, how does she get to school each day? How often does she fly? Is it just going to annoy her parents or give her some good focus for studying (in which case, maybe some headphones would be better than airpods).
IMO most of the use cases for airpods in general aren't what a 13 year old would need, travel, calls, exercise, easy portability. But then buying your 13 year old niece a $400 xmas present is a bit weird too to me.
