Hello,
There's a little more to it than the title suggests - so read on please.
So two main questions….
And yes I know about static ice, shopbot etc etc…. Although I'm sure there are plenty I don't know about?
For example, I'm only recently buying more and more on ebay/amazon so any good tips/links for buying on there would be great - but that's an aside!
So again… two main questions….
A)
How do you find BOTH the Lowest Prices for things to buy right now AS WELL AS finding a Historical record of the Lowest price for items you are interested in buying (eg find the lowest prices they were listed at to be purchased online within the last year or two ?)
Clearly, the idea of the second part; is as a benchmark reference to get an idea of just how cheaply this can/could be bought for again in the future which could help you decide if you should wait a while until the next big sale or just buy it now as the difference won't be that much.
B)
Obviously - OzBargain is one great way - but what are other great ways to find this info for:
1) Australian sites/stores (including physical stores)
2) US, UK and other Global sites/stores (including physical stores)?
For example, if I'm looking to buy an expensive pair of headphones - I might look on OzBargain first to see what prices it's been listed at here in the past…. however I might not find that much info (depending on how popular/expensive/rarely imported it is and so on)…. so where else can I look?
I've tried the wayback machine - didn't work…. anything like that for prices items are 'offered' for sale at on ebay/amazon - as opposed to prices 'sold at'?
Can you get a wayback machine for either?
If there isn't much listed on OzBargain for a specific item - then I'd want to maybe look overseas to an equivalent site for the US or UK to see how low the prices have gotten there Now and In the Past - to give me a rough idea.
Obviously, this might not be the exact low we might get here as we'd pay more for shipping and because of the awful Aussie dollar - but it could help give you a rough idea.
Any other advice would be great
Thanks for your help
