Chocolate ripple cake with smashed peppermint crisp sprinkles on top.

Why is this not a poll option?

    • Add it! Haha. Which is this from? Coles or Woolies?

      • +3

You need to assemble it. It's very easy and looks like this. The fruit in this image makes it unnecessarily healthy hence why I put smashed peppermint crisp on top.

It's just whipped cream and Arnott's chocolate ripple biscuits. Put it in the fridge for a few hours and the biscuits go soft. Plenty of sugar and a hint of vanilla essence in the cream and it's heaven.

          That sounds amazing

You mention Aldi and dessert but don't mention their tiramisu? It's god mode for dessert. End of thread.

      • +1

        That's the one! The tiramisu.

Not sure what it is, probably the amount of sugar, but it slaps way more than you'd think it does. and made in italy too IIRC.

    • Hahaha love the conviction 😅

      • You too shall be a convert after you try it

    • Good different?

    • it's a shame it dosen't come in smaller sizes

      • Agreed

I know it says not to but I've frozen it for two months and had a bit every few nights and it keeps fine fyi

    • +1

Yes, this is legit. Don’t know why people wish it came smaller. I could probably eat a whole one on my own it’s so good.

      • Because it doesn't keep for too long in the fridge unfortunately 😔

But see my comment above, it does actually freeze well

        • +2

No need to put that bad boy in the freezer. Just grab a spoon and see what happens

      • I actually picked this up yesterday and put it back down when I read the label saying to consume it on the same day of opening. I probably could…but I probably shouldn't.

    • Haven’t tried this. Will give it a go.

    • Feeling like I need to go to Aldi today to buy this!

  • I always go for the sponge fresh cream and jam cake - good dessert for cheap $4

The special always rotates between Coles and Woolies.

  • Croissant with Nutella? (Assemble at home)
    Any takers?

    • Breakfast, not dessert.

    Creme caramel.

  • The Woolies Xmas shortbreads arent bad. Have to really work hard not to buy them.

  • Coles/Woolworths chocolate mud cake.

  • It's all pretty foul tbh.

    • That cream cake still haunting you?
I did your trick last year but with a Woolworths tiramisu, was $20 on clearance for $4. Aside from feeling weird from eating too much sugar I was fine though.

    Milo and ice cream

i try to get something with a nutritional component, eg coles snack apple pies, aldi rice pudding

  • Various ice creams whatever is on half price. Weis bars are having a run in our house again.

I do like a Bavarian but don’t get it often. Frozen cheesecakes aren’t bad either but again stay away on a regular basis for health reasons.

If I’m trying not to overdo the calories we have low sugar jelly, some are really nice prepared with Greek yoghurt mixed through before it sets eg pineapple flavour.

I’m also a sucker for chocolate mousse the kenilworth one is very nice.

  • I used to love the Aldi dark chocolate mousse. It was part of their higher quality range I suppose you could call it (forget their naming), was made in Belgium and would come in small glasses.

They disappeared for a while until they brought them back in plastic tubs. Now it seems they have removed it from their range altogether, as I haven't been able to find them at all for months.

The coles twin pack of cheesecakes (ny or chocolate) are good for $5 ($2.5 per serve) found normally in bakery section fridge.

  • Hi Sinnerator, any particular name for this cheese cake? I love cheese cakes.

    • I can't remember off hand, it may even just be Coles branded. It's in the bakery section fridge with the custard pies and profiteroles etc, some Coles have 2 of these fridges so check both.

Colesworth pavlova assemble yourself with whipped cream and any berries/cherries on sale and passionfruit pulp - so many variations. Easy, great value, and looks fab. Also, Meringue Nests filled with half dollop cream and with greek yogurt and berries.
