  • Is it worth getting the gold edition? It mentions dlcs etc, but I don't really know what it entails exactly (and I've never played the first Mario rabbids)

    • Last one, gold was an extra chapter and some challenge levels iirc. It was worthwhile. DLC RRP is $30 and didn't get price reductions for about 2 years although it does now. It also took a very long time to be released

That was quick. Also unsurprising, given it’s a Ubisoft game. Fully expect this to be $39 or lowest early next year.

    Wait for the gold version

    • The gold version is there at $89. Do you mean the gold version at a better price?

  • +4

Steelbook edition is $59 at JB - $49 with perks.

Amazon is price matching Big W

    • Omg the steelbook looks so good. Idk what to get the gold edition or this steelbook. Would look great on my bookshelf.

  • +3

Yep. This is absolutely one of the games on switch.

This is absolutely one of the comments on this deal

lol at neg. (I didn't neg you, btw)

So far it has unironically been one of my favourite games this year, alongside Kirby and Live-a-Live.
Great game and a steal at this price.

      • What did you think about the Live-a-Live pricing?

        • +1

Thought it was fine, I got 30-40 something hrs out of it and it was one of the more unique JRPG storytelling methods I've seen, something that Octopath fell well short of as the closest comparison.
If I ever get a clear backlog I might give it another run one day, missed some secrets as it turns out and I'd like to pick a different pupil for the Chinese chapter etc.

I had hundreds of wallet sitting on my profile anyway from some of the 15% off Eshop vouchers via Eb/Coles promos too, so I didn't really mind.

Such a great game! I got the steel box from JB. Looks pretty.

    • Seconded, I'm actually having such a blast and didn't know how much I'd enjoy it. Probably one of the best Ubisoft games in my books.

Been thinking about playing XCOM after finishing this!

  • +1

    Got discounted pretty quickly

  • Bought the first game for like $25 in 2021, didn't find it that fun and certainly wouldn't pay $50 - but each to their own.

    • +1

What? This isn't the same game, they actually changed it quite significantly (and for the better I've heard).

  • BIG W = $49 SAME PRICE

  • is this a good game for 8 and 10 year old>?

    • +1

It depends if they are into turn based strategy games. It may be a little too advanced for a 8 year old.

      • I agree, there are some good difficulty modifiers though.

    • +1

My 6 year old is making her way through it on the easiest difficulty settings although her biggest challenge is trying to navigate where to go between battles. She's loving it.

  • +2

Personally going to wait on a discount for gold edition. These games are great and drop in price fast (ubisoft)

  • -4

Switch games are all way overpriced for what they are..

  • I played the first one and kind of felt like that was enough for me?

I know there's a lot of reasons to go back to the sequel but maaaaaan my cup runneth over

  • Back in stock at $49
