He got rolled by his next wife that's for sure

    • -1

He could have had any women in the first place!
Fun fact: David Epstein was in love with John L. Took his life for not getting him!
Linda's dad was from the Epstein clan, changed his name to Eastman.
Linda was a single mother when she "fished" for men and her gold digging was a success!
Unfortunately having "2" Epstein managers trying to sort out 4 musicians did not end up well.
Linda and Paul preferred to be out of the lime light and spend time on their poverty farm in the Mull of Kintyre.
      Paul's instrument came from Germany.
There is no business like show business!

        Check your facts!
Who's David Epstein? You mean Brian Epstein?

        • oops yes Brian sorry
but now they try to make money from the dead so as a vegetarian I might pass thanks.

I don't recommend the 'rapeseed' oil.

      • +1

        Why?

      • +3

aka canola oil. The plant is called oil seed rape in the UK (where these are from) and the oil is rape seed oil. "Rape" in this context derives from the Latin for turnip.

        • Cheers, I learned something today :) I'd assumed it was supposed to read grapeseed.

        • aka canola oil

          That's not correct

While the words rapeseed and canola are sometimes used interchangeably, they are not quite the same thing. While they belong to the same species, canola is a specific cultivar of the rape plant.

Oil labeled “canola” has to have less than 30 micromoles of glucosinolates and less than 2% of erucic acid.

          • +2

@spaceflight: True, but the rapeseed cultivar used (in Europe at least) is the same one referred to here as canola that has the lower erucic acid level. I used to know more about the ins and outs of the varieties as my sister used to be an agricultural research scientist working with the brassica family and talked about it a lot. Thankfully she mainly brought home boxes of broccoli rather than expecting us to process oilseed rape with her ex-research material.

'plant based' diets here we come!!!
…whether you like it or not!!!

      • -1

        Well, some interesting reading…

"Beyond Meat Is Struggling, and the Plant-Based Meat Industry Worries

A few years ago, business was booming. That growth has slowed, with some wondering if the number of consumers has reached its limit….

“At the category level, we’re seeing volumes for plant-based meats down 22 consecutive months now,” said John Baumgartner, a consumer food analyst at the financial institution Mizuho Americas.

A few years ago, investors expected the category to explode with growth year after year, Mr. Baumgartner said. Now, he said, those expectations are being reconsidered.

“We’re positive on the future for plant-based meat, but this is a 20- to 25-year story,” he said. “It’s not going to happen in three to five to 10 years.”"

        • +1

Two major things at play at the moment: Keto is more trendy than veganism. Most of these plant-based meat options are not Keto-friendly.
Two, these plant-based meat is pricier than the things sold as meat.

That said, I do try them whenever a new plant-based product becomes available to find out how far they've improved. The Beyond Meatballs are pretty good airfried then smothered in sauce.

          • +2

@loki niflheim: Keto, carnivore, paleo, caveman, pfft.. all rebranded Atkins diets but people blindly jump on the fad, a lot of it due to social media. Nothing healthy about those diets, which are high in fat and low in fibre. Not to mention over consuming all that meat is not only expensive but a burden on the planet and obviously the animals.

Ah yes, the good old grubberment nanny state who does us all SO much good… by protecting industry who poisons us for profit. Like cobalt hip replacements which continued rotting away bone and flesh in patients well after the USA banned then dumped them in Australia while our malevolent benefactors sat with a glazed look in their eyes and thumbs up their ____; thalidomide which caused babies to be born minus limbs; and of course the ongoing mind control and pseudoscience surrounding vaccines with its multiple examples, a few of which are the monkey-virus-contaminated Sabin vaccine which its very creator warned the world of; the plethora of peanut allergies which magically appeared and nearly disappeared (purely by coincidence we're supposed to believe) after they used prolifically then reduced the use of, peanut oil as an excipient or adjuvant (your body attacks foreign material - so what do you think happens when you inject peanut oil and then walk into a room with peanuts); or how instances of SIDS in Japan both plummeted then skyrocketed in direct lockstep with stopping/restarting a certain vaccine which ALSO causes physical signs emulating Shaken Baby Syndrome, which absolutely has never resulted in a false murder conviction after visiting the local GP for the latest round of jabby.

Nothing to see here folks… the nanny state has your back (with knife in-hand).

              • @[Deactivated]: It's a historical fact that you're batshit crazy

                • +4

@GrueHunter: LOL, The facts are on a government run website (ABS.gov.au) and it's clear that Covid was a scam-demic. Over 160,000 people died from March 2020- Feb 2022 and less than 2800 were from "covid" and about half of those covid deaths are fake/questionable with a average death age of over 80. Meanwhile 10's of thousands of people died from diabetes, heart attacks and other conditions related to overeating/diet. The real pandemic is bad food/diet! After getting the country to 80%+ vaccinated we had record cases for omicron in early 2022 (it was so bad they stopped reporting it to keep selling you vaccines) and everyone I know that got vaccinated got covid. I never got it it and never got vaccinated. 95% of Aussies have got this useless vaccine that is now being pulled from booster doses for under 30's because of a rise in Myocarditis. Robert Malone (co creator of Moderna/MRNA technology) interviewed on Joe Rogan and said it was dangerous, and didn't test well in animals. Pfizer admitted it gave no immunity recently in the Europe investigation and they had no evidence to suggest that it would give people immunity. 95% of ya'll trusted an experimental vaccine with no long term testing from a company that answers to investors and is on the stock market with a priority of profit! Every customer cured is a customer lost and they don't want to lose customers! Wake up people. Money runs this world, follow it and you will see the true FACTS.

    • Palm oil isn't the healthiest but I don't think it's heaps bad is it? Nothing wrong with soy protein though is there?

      • +1

Palm oil is terrible for the environment generally, as there's a tonne of deforestation that's taking place to make way for palm oil plantations.
Which is why I'm surprised a brand built on the memory of a animal rights activist would use it. But at least it appears the use sustainably sourced palm oil, so at least that's something…

        • Palm oil is terrible for the environment…. Do you seriously think those that preach about environment and force all this crap on us give rats ass about environment and follow those rules, seriously???? 🤦

The other day just at 1 meeting ( and they have hundreds of these meetings) 400 private jet planes arrived, do you want me to tell you how that reeks of "i care about mother earth"?

          Please, don't be stupid.

As for palm oil it's CARCINOGENIC and it's pushed as a FILLER in almost EVERYTHING!

          https://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/news/20170209/palm-oil-th…

          • +4

@drazenm: No-one's forcing anything on you mate. It's nice to have options to use your free will to decide what you want to eat.
And I'm not trying to be pro-palm oil use. Far from it. I'm sure there are better alternatives, and sustainable stamps are often not worth the ink used to print them, not sure what your trying to argue.

As for palm oil it's CARCINOGENIC

So is red meat. Honestly, it's harder to find things that aren't classified as carcinogenic.

          • @drazenm: Actual authoritative site to reference? I'm not doubting just not trusting of the above chosen links. Normal the listed carcinogens are split into categories such as known, probable etc and on an organisations website.
