ShopBack Unable to Track/Validate Nord VPN Cashback from Last 6 Months

As the title says, signed up for Nord VPN in June 2022 and Shopback was offering 96% cashback.

I made sure that no ad blockers are active, had no VPN and of course no incognito mode.

Reached out to the team for missing cashback, provided all the required information including the card number that was used to make the payment.

Since that day I only get monthly emails stating the same thing as below “
Thanks for your inquiry, my sincere apologies for your less than perfect experience with ShopBack.

At the moment, our team is still validating this transaction with our merchant partner. We will do our best to update your Cashback status by the date set on your Cashback description.”

I have run out of and this has never happened to me with cashrewards. They been spot on with tracking my transactions and have always got paid on time.

How the hell this can take 6+ months to validate the transaction?

I’m not being entitled here, but my main reason to purchase the vpn service was because of the cashback offer.

      • Just curious, did you cancel auto-renewal on your VPN subscription. Reason I ask is because I’ve heard some others on OzBargain that did that complain of not getting or have difficulty getting cash back.

        I signed up to one of these deals awhile back (PIA @ Shopback) & just waited until my cash back was paid out (just in case) before turning off the auto renewal, which seemed to do the trick.

        Good luck with getting a positive resolution.

            NOTE that there have been users who bought PIA via Shopback in the past who have had their cashback's denied by Shopback because They turned Auto Renew OFF, with PIA saying they cancelled their service, and if you cancel their service not eligible for cashback.
            That is a scam, because Cancelling is about buying a service then refunding, not turning off auto renewal”

            This was what I was referring too, maybe Nord VPN have a similar policy. But I agree, it would be a bogus reason to refuse cash back.

            • @dscott85: Totally mate, all bogus reasons to avoid paying cashback.

              I subscribed to Shark VPN via cashrewards, removed auto payment. cashrewards and got the transaction tracked instantly and got paid on time.

      Hey mates, I've got a colossal amount of DM's at the mo, doing my bets to get through the bulk of them today and will do my best to bump this and get some movement on it for @mobiguru. I will say that often these validation issues come from us waiting to hear back for action from the merchant which is why the can drag on on occasion, but always happy to do what I can.

    I usually video the whole process for a big purchase just in case it didn't track. Thus, with VPN purchasing, if it don't show up after a couple of days, I'd take advantage of 30 days money back and try again. My experience with Cashreward and Shopback regarding missing cashback has been great. Keep pushing, harass them with emails and keep checking back on them every week. I had to do that for one of my missing cashback with Shopback. I hope you will get it in the end.

    I'd previously run into problems using the browser extensions so I switched to pretty much exclusively order using the app's in-built browser for both SB/CR and haven't had a problem (including the a NordVPN deal).
