What's the use case for these? I've got a torch that's 1,300 lumens and on the 700 lumens setting it's very bright already. How bright would 8k lumens be, would it be like a car headlight?
Are these mainly used for camping or what?

I think LED car headlights are generally 2000-4000 lumens so this would be 2-4x as bright as a bright LED headlight.
More 1.4 to 2 times as bright. Prescribed brightness is proportional to the square root of the brightness change in lumens. Beam shape also plays an even more significant role.
I was thinking there was probably some formula I wasn't aware of that would mean I was wrong but couldn't be bothered to check. Good to know and thanks for the correction.
If you're out in the country it's pretty handy having more light, especially if there's a bit of distance around you. I have a 1000 lumen light which I generally use on half power for close up stuff, but when moving around in the bush, the option of having more light is much better.

Mostly for blinding other people or sometimes yourself when you look at it whilst turning it on and forgetting you had it on Turbo mode last time you used it.

Its got a good light throw so we use it when doing the annual inspection of our roof space, termites, leaks, etc. I initially got the SD01 especially for this - it was great until one of the LEDs konked out after a few weeks. Amazon honoured the return and refund - was simple and easy. Recently got this SP36 Pro for $90 :( as a replacement - much better with its Anduril customization and mmmmm-mega light.
