Thanks Pennies, in b4 someone asks if this can be used to recharge.

    • +2

      My pleasure :)

in b4 someone also asks whether you can port in/out and whether there is 5G

      • +2

in b4 someone also asks how Boost Mobile is related to Boost Juice

      • +1

        I have two questions….

Can you port in/ out and is there 5G?

    • New boost user here - So can I use this to recharge? :D

Or do I need to port out to another, port back in with this new SIM?

    • -1

Whats the point of jumping into a 28 day mobile plan for the sake of if effectively being free?

Then 28 days later you must have another deal ready.

Is this really worth it even though you "profit" ?

The deal must be "worthwhile" the effort involved

And this is for a cashback only which you might not use

      • I never suggested to do that.

      • You don't like having a month of mobile use for free? Or being paid $2 along with free mobile use?

And as to cashback you might not use? What the hell are you talking about? This deal gives you $13.99 cashback. You can withdraw that $13.99 in total direct to your bank account. It's literally money.

  • How soon are the cashback amounts usually ready to withdraw?

    • ~2m

      • Cheers

      • +7

For those not deep in the know, that is 2 months and not 2 minutes ;-)

    • +1

Says 06-03-2023 so more like 3 Months. My previous ones also were 3 months. Sometimes they get approved a couple of weeks earlier than stated.

  • shows me the price as $40 on boost website?

edit: forgot to enter promo all good

  • +3

A tip for others… On Boost website you have to click the very small blue "apply" button manually after entering the code.

Clicking the next button does not apply it and there is no other price confirmation screen

I realised my error after confirmation email was sent it charged $40.

    • Oh no, cancel the order…

      • Contacted through chat. Took half hour, and they can't cancel until it processes in 24-hours time. Viable to cancel but a frustrating process

  • Never used cashrewards before. How do you get the $14 cashback? I bought the sim through the link through cashrewards but haven't received the $14 back yet, does it take a while to process?

    • +1

~2 months it'll be in your Cashrewards balance. You can cash out your balance if it's greater than $10.

    • Hi there. Sorry for the late reply as I just finished work. Tracking is near instant for Boost. Then a few weeks later you get your cashback approved and then you can withdraw to your bank :)

  • Sucks to keep switching every 28 days to the next deal. But yeah, for free or profit shouldn’t complain

    • So you haven't had issues porting out and in again? At least one person said they have to use Live Chat to port in every time, ever since they activated "2 Boost SIMs with the same ID".

      • If you port the number out then back in (& give it time for the system to update) you can stay below the 2 active number limit.

If you activate each sim on a new number & throw em away once the data is used up the numbers remain "active" attached to your ID for months & you end up having to activate through chat.

        • Do you think that's the issue? The link implies that this has become an indefinite issue, though it's plausible that he may have more than one active SIM or had "triggered" the issue with multiple SIMs in the past.

These are fantastic for menulog promo codes ($15 off 30 for new customers). Then I put them in my car for spotify access!

  • +1

It still says 'New customers only' on the site so can we get the deal if we've been a customer before?

    • Yeah I spotted that as well. The OP should note this otherwise can get rejected.
New Customer = generally a different email address when Activating it. Doesn't matter what email is used when ordering.

      • Hi Borg,
New customer term is only for the additional Boost data, and nothing to do with the cashback offer.
Provided you activate within 30 days of ordering, cashback will be honoured.
        Thanks,
        minita

        • +1

Yeap however not hard to note this in the OP as it's a rather important point I would have thought.

        • Just looking for further clarification on the definitiion of a "new customer".

Boost T&Cs state: "New customers only… Limit to one promotional item per customer".

Does that mean I have to purchase multiple plans using different names / ID (or can I purchase 4 x plans for the family using my own details)?

  • +1

More data is good. I also noticed amaysim is now 160GB for the $50 plan ($15 at woolworths?) For more information check out the woolworths catalogue.

    Do you have to activate?

  • Hey guys,
I have one of these 4G Wifi thingys locked to Telstra (that I can borrow from a friend)… Would I be able to use a Boost sim card in it?

If not, can someone suggest an alternative for me that would work with one of these Boost sim cards?

    My situation
I'll be going camping end of year and was hoping to set up some wifi access to have a couple of ipads hooked up to internet..etc

    Thank you!!

    • +1

I do. Mine is unlocked, but a Telstra one should work with Boost.

    • +2

Should be fine. I have various Telstra locked devices e.g. WiFi 4GX Hotspot type of devices. All work fine with Boost SIM. Even (off topic a little) the Telstra GEN2 Smart Modems work with them.

    • Almost certainly, though depending on how old it is, I think I read something about Telstra swapping some frequency bands with another telco some years ago(?).

The answer to your second question would be "a newer one" (one released in the last couple of years), because it would have any frequency band changes programmed into its firmware. i.e. You would look up the model number and/or (firmware revision number if it's stated and/or dated on the box) to see when it was released.

You could just set a phone as the wifi access point for other devices. It will drain the battery fast. You can overcome that by buying more than one SIM (if this deal allows that), or getting a few people to signup and buy one. Then put SIMs in a few different phones so one phone isn't doing all the work.

Oh and if you know where you'll be going… you could go there beforehand, install a network identifying app in your phone, and it will show the tower you can access in that location, maybe some freq band info too, which you could then compare with the specs of the wifi device.

  • Has this expired as I am getting an error "The promo code BOOSTCASHREWARDS doesn't seem to be valid or has expired"

IGNORE: I went back, tried again and it worked!

    • Same here, just go back to homepage on website, find this sim and apply promo code, it work then.

  • So just need to do this a million times…

    • And you'll be able to afford an iphone 15. Base model.

  • Which sim to port out to? Last time I tried voda I got stuck at needing to recharge $10 to activate the sim.

  • How many times will this offer be honoured. I'm keen for several family and friends to try.

Can I use the coupon and cashback offer multiple times?

    • OP states: Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. Adding more than one SIM to an order will result in an untracked purchase.
So as long as they are ordered separately AND keep in mind it is for new Boost customers, don't see a restriction.

  • Has anyone got the something went wrong message when ordering a boost Sim and the money still taken out from your credit card but no boost order confirmation email and no tracking ?

it happened to me the other night. It was pending for two days and transaction went through.

  • @kdmeir
[anyone got the something went wrong message when ordering a boost Sim and the money still taken out from your credit card but no boost order confirmation email and no tracking ?]

Yes and just when i was about to complain to Boost it turned up in my normal mail delivery
( within 1 week of ordering)

  • Anyone know if it’s possible to order in one person’s name/email, but activate the actual SIM in another name/email?

Presumably the cashback will be fine - but will it cause issues while activating the SIM?

    • +1

I've done this and it's not an issue.

    • +1

It doesn't matter what email you use to order it as that's just used for invoice etc. The important one is when you go to Activations, it asks for details then incl email address.

  • Do you only get cashback if you stay on the plan for 3 months?

  • Thanks OP for one just to have a spare number

  • i get: sorry something went wrong .. anyone same?

    • Yes , it’s happened to me and another

      see above

money was still taken out of my credit card, I received no confirmation email from boost and it did not track with cashrewards.

Did the same happened to you?
