Nah way too much for such supar specs. That 2080S and 10gen i7 will be outdated quite quickly especially with 3070 laptop with at least 11gen or 12gen Intel chip is also available at the same price range.
Lame, no deal.
No point paying top dollar for 10th gen mobo and chip. Same for gpx.
sold my Razer Blade 17 Pro with same specs (but slightly higher clocked i7-10875H) a year ago when it was "last gen"
now this is super old. and Acer.
Can someone recommend $1.7k gaming laptop that's preforming better than this one?
Do you need a laptop like right now? Because it's harder to find any deals now that the-albeit disappointing-black friday deals are gone.
However, just because there is no deal right now is really no reason you should be going for such an old machine at the price at the 1749 price at its current at. This wont hold up well in the long term.
Yes, I'm about to get the second hand and then see this. I have been looking for a while for under $2k that can use with my Quest2. I'm not really care if it's out date or not, just do the job is fine.
Your short list might include the Infinity M7, Lenovo Legion 5/5i/pro, maybe less so the MSI Katana, etc, but you will have to wait for a decent deal before we get anything sub $2k at the moment. Jarrod's Tech on youtube is a good resource for in depth reviews. I was disappointed with black Friday. I'm waiting to get into a 3060/3070 and 12700H for something like $2k-2.4k or a decent 3060 with a 1tB SSD and 32GB ram for same price. There was a good deal back in August from Lenovo that I missed out on. Waiting for something like that again.
Performance seems subpar to say the least, the video you quoted is not such a perfect comparison, with the 2080s max q machine-and a better one than the triton in both cooling and cpu-pitted against last years strix g17 which neither is a full powered 3070m variant nor come with a mux switch implementation (the triton does). Even then it falls behind by a good 10%. I would wait for another 3070 deal for certain because the idea of paying 1.8k for soon to be (edit: already 2 gen old for the cpu going into 3 gen old) 2 gen old hardware does not entertain me in the slightest and shouldnt be to you.
