And meanwhile the difference between S22 ultra 128 GB and S22 ultra 512 GB is $300

    • +4

dont start. steve jobs is watching and may get offended

    • Can the flash memory in modern smartphones be compared to what is used for microSD cards though?

      • +3

Most people will only use the extra storage for photos and videos. So even if you claim that flash memory in smartphones is 1000 times faster and will last 1000 years instead of 10 years in microSD cards, whats the benefit except smartphone manufacturers laughing all the way to the bank?

      • If you get into the nitty gritty you could say they aren't comparable, but for general end user it doesnt make much of a difference.

Only really noticeable when you try run apps off of internal vs external sd, or record something needing high bandwidth.

      • There is a faster microSD card standard, SDUC/SD Express with ≥ 985 MB/s full-duplex speeds.

It's been around for 4 years, but hasn't taken off.

  • Was Cheaper at amazon uk month ago. $110.25 for two. and less few $ with cashback giftcard promos etc

edit. not sure if the "plus" makes any different.

    • It has DRAM for better caching ;-)

    • These are the same card with different branding. The only difference is the colour (and they are almost identical to previous versions too (green/red) cards).

  • oooh nice deal! thanks for sharing (:

  • My 256gb Evo Plus only seems to manage 25MB/s write and about 60MB/s read with Blackmagic Disk Speed test on MBP14. HD Tune is better at 75MB/s on my XPS15. Dunno what's going on there but it's basically unusably slow on my Macbook

    • +1

I was going to say it might be fake but the MBP14 being that far under your XPS15 indicates a memory card reader issue.

      • Hmmm i'll try testing another card but I've only noticed this particular card being slow on my MBP

        • Do other cards have faster read speed on your MBP? Could also be hardware.

    • My Evo Select/Plus (green/red/blue/white) microsd cards benchmark at about 85-88 MB/s on crystalmark on my PC.

    • ideal vs real life speeds I think.
Some vary more, some vary less.

  • Can I get officework to do a price match with Amazon. Au, so that I can get it earlier.

  • I bought mine (Samsung Evo 512GB microsd) in March for $95 and used it in my phone to store my music, photos. But failed last month. Yet to get the replacement.

Samsung customer support is terrible , speaking from personal experience. I hope you get a resolution from Amazon, ie if you've purchased from Amazon. I found Amazon customer service good.

      • Even worst, I bought mine from eBay. I got an RMA to send back. Hope I can a replacement or refund.

    • Was yours the same as the picture? (Samsung 512GB Evo plus 2021)

I ordered mine from Samsung store late last year and also used it on my phone.
It started showing signs of failing a few weeks ago.
ie. cause phone to freeze, reboot etc. and extremely slow to copy files on computer.

This card also seems to draw more power then the older Samsungs and Sandisk Extremes I have on hand

      • Yes, mine is Samsung 512GB Evo plus. Not sure about the 2021.

  • How many hours is footage would this be? Standard recording on osmo action 2

  • I got one because i needed it now. But spewing i didn’t bite on the 2x for $110

  • +1

    Down to $69 now.

    • Nows a good time to buy I guess :) Ill buy this and just wait on the 1TB microSD lol

  • Still $69 not expired
