Hi all, I was gifted a goodfood gift card last year, and just randomly trying at a Italian restaurant not listed on the website, and payment went through ok.
It got me thinking, does it work like an eftpos gift card? Or is it just any restaurant which accepts eftpos pretty much? Thanks

There's two different kinds of Good Food giftcards, the TCN ones just use the restaurant code as a normal EFTPOS card so it'll work anywhere. The ones issued by Edge are actually giftcards and require the restaurant to be registered and do a specific setup on their EFTPOS machine to accept them.
Sadly both are branded as Good Food, but one is https://goodfoodgiftcard.com.au/ (the Edge card) and the other is https://goodfood.gift/ (the TCN card).

Probably not, they're a different restaurant classification in the EFTPOS system. Never tried it though, I only found out the above when I've had a bunch of both cards and found one would work pretty much anywhere, others wouldn't.
I suspect it's just a rebranding of this card done with some marketing for specific restaurants on top of it. It specifically excludes fast food.
TCN the Restaurant Card is allowed to use in fast food, I've been using this card quite often
